LA Girl Mr. Deejay

Happy Wednesday! Are you having a good night? DH is forcing me to watch "Man vs. Food". Have you heard of that show? The host goes around and samples unique foods. Most of them are really large portions and enough to feed a small family. I think this is the "man" channel, lol. He knows I'd rather watch anything else, so I'm sitting here picking off nail polish. The leopard mani managed to last 4 days, which is not bad considering the household chores I have to do. I was wondering if it would hold up while making meatloaf or if I would mysteriously find nail foil in my dinner. It managed to survive "go Poshe".

So, I finally had a chance to get my hands on a few LA Girl polishes. Here's 2 coats of Deejay which is a beautiful bold blue. It glows under UV light, but I don't have one of those on hand.

This polish is more beautiful in the sunlight but the first picture is more accurate. The application was smooth and opaque in 2 coats.

That's all I have for today. I have more swatches and another foil I'll post soon. Thanks for stopping by!

Leopard Foil Gradient Mani

Happy Monday! My day is blah so far but I hope yours is going better. If not, here's a little sunshine to cheer you up :D

This foil is called Wrapping Paper. I had to complete it twice because I forgot to apply a base color. It still wasn't completely opaque after applying a base, so I re-foiled the 1st two fingers. Can you tell the difference? If you look closely you can see the ridges on my pinky and ring fingers.

This foil is really bright and my least favorite so far, so I stamped over it. It would probably be better for the Holiday season, thus the name wrapping paper (ha ha). But I love the look with the leopard print stamped on top.

I switched it up to a French on the right hand. Yes, I'm lop-handed. I chipped 2 nails and decided to file them down instead of temporary wraps.

Well I hope this brightened your day, at least a little........... Until I polish again :)

I think I'm in love with Mr. Wrong!

To describe this polish in one word would be "AMAZING". It has silver and golden-bronze glitter which is beautiful in the charcoal base. I only applied two coats and couldn't stop staring at my nails. At some angles it appears more silver and more bronze at other angles. I'm not sure how they pulled this one off at such an affordable price but it's definitely a must have. This is my first Hard Candy but I will be going back for more!

PHD Sponge Challenge and Twilight Saga Nails

Good morning! Hope you're having a great Saturday so far. My girls are on "10" today as usual, lol. They're outside playing right now, so I have a chance to upload a few pics. And the great news is I have a baby sitter for today, woo hoo (happy dance).

Here is the mani I completed for Polish Hoarder Disorder's Summer Sponge Challenge.

Products Used:
Color Club "Take Me To Your Chateau"
Essie - Turquoise & Caicos
Orange acrylic paint
Kiss Nail Stencils

I also forgot to post my Book Cover Challenge design. DH's computer was acting up again and that slows down the upload process.

For this design I used all acrylic paints, except for the face color. I thought these nails were creepy and wore them out for the movie (ha ha). Next time I'll matte the faces so that you can see them better. I think they turned out "okay" but not as nice as I would have liked.

That's all of the pics I have for now. I've restored and updated his computer again, so hopefully that's the end of my little computer drama. I have more pics to share and will try to get them up as soon as possible.

Thanks for stopping by and have a happy polishing day!

Snake Skin Foil

Good morning Sunshines! I'm still working through my new foils and today I'll show you the snake skin design.

I selected a green base for this look but I think it would look great over neutrals to give a true snake skin appearance or over brights for a more unique look. The cool thing about the foil is once you apply the top coat it gives a slightly textured appearance.

For the base I used China Glaze Tree Hugger and a black Kiss nail art striper to create a fine line.

I hope you enjoyed this wild look. Thanks for stopping by and have a happy polishing day!

Golden Foil and Happy 4th!!!

Happy 4th of July! I hope you all are enjoying the fireworks and being safe. I wanted to share my sparkly mani for the day. It's a foil called "Rainbow Swirl" from Dollar Nail Art. This is my first time performing a "foil". Or shall I say my second because I practiced on my daughter's toes, lol.

The application was super easy after I got the hang of it. You have to be careful because if you don't transfer all of the foil you will have bare spots. So to prevent this I used China Glaze 2030 as a base. Overall I'm happy with the results and value of the foil. Its only $1 for a 5 foot role. The only down side is that you must buy at least $25 in goodies. And since everything on the site is $1 you will have a massive quantity of supplies, lol.

Well I have to go watch the fireworks. Have a safe night!
