OPI Brazil Spring and Summer 2014 Collection - Swatches and Review

Hello everyone! Today I have the OPI Brazil Collection to share with you. Starting with quick swatches of the Brazil Sands.  All of the polishes were 3 coaters, but the yellow (You're So Flippy Floppy) was surprisingly a 2 coater. They are pretty flat but the colors are still pretty. My favorite is the purple (Somebody Loves Purple).

I Just Can't Cope-acabana is a beautiful canary yellow creme, opaque in 3 coats. This was one of the stand outs in the collection for me.

Kiss Me I'm Brazilian. I love this one just for the name. A pretty girly pink for the Spring. Opaque in 2 coats. I like here :)

Where Did Suzi's Man-Go? Another pretty color for the spring. I used 3 coats but could have gotten away with 2. I also love this color, maybe not the most unique, but really pretty.

Toucan Do It if You Try. Two coat coral. I'm sorry but my camera is really changing the color here.  Please see the video on this collection for better color accuracy.

Live Love Carnival. Similar to Toucan but I like it better. My camera is changing the color again but it's more of a hot coral, if that makes since. I know some are in love with this color but the 2 corals are my least favorite from the collection.

Toucan and Live Love Carnival side by side for comparison.

Don't Bossa Nova Me Around.  I'm not sure how to describe this color it's light grey with a hint of pink/purple. Very pretty and I think this would look great on most skins tones.  I used 3 coats.

Taupe-less Beach - Similar to Bossa but 3 to 4 shades darker.  The formula was also slightly thicker and only needed 2 coats.

I Saa Paulo Over There.  Another great creme that falls in line with Taupe-less Beach. I used 2 coats.

Next Stop...The Bikini Zone. Grey/violet shimmer finish. I needed 3 coats to make it opaque. In the bottle it almost looks duochrome but sadly it's not.

Amazon...Amazeoff. Gorgeous and absolutely my fave from the collection! This is the most unique to my stash. Be careful because it stains quickly, even when only swatching I got stains. I used 2 coats here. Teal creme with a pearlesque finish.

OPI Scores A Goal! Pretty but not very unique. Almost a dusty burgundy opaque with 2 coats.

Red Hot Rio. I'm not a fan of red but I really love this. So shiny and sheer it's almost a jelly. I used 2 coats and it has a lot of gloss going on without a top coat. Another fave from the collection.

I like the collection but with the theme being Brazil I would have loved to see a bright green or blue.  The colors in the collection are pretty but with so many cremes, there are probably a lot of dupes out there. Overall I believe everyone can find something they like here. If not for the colors, for the names. OPI really got creative and must have had a blast selecting names for this collection.

The Brazil Collection is available now at retailers that carry OPI.

OPI James Bond Skyfall Holiday Collection 2012 - Swatches and Review - Part 1

This holiday season, OPI celebrates the 50th Anniversary of a fellow world icon – James Bond – appearing in Skyfall. Starring Daniel Craig and Javier Bardem, this highly-anticipated twenty-third installment opens in theaters nationwide on November 9, 2012.

Live and Let Die
Dark emerald green with a golden shimmer. Perfect 1 coater but I used a second just to be sure. I really love this one from the collection.

The Spy Who Loved Me
Bright candy apple red that gives off a copper hue due to the golden shimmer. Great for the Holiday season. I used 2 coats.

You Only Live Twice
Cousin to The Spy Who Loved Me, but a much deeper red shimmer that almost looks like a foil.  The color is more in the magenta family and not as warm as it looks in the picture.  It reminds me of wrapping paper. I prefer this one over The Spy Who Loves Me, but it required an additional coat, for a total of 3.

The World is Not Enough
Pewter-copper base with light pink and green shimmer. This is a fun one and really pretty in the bottle but I think it's too matchy-matchy for my skin tone. The formula was different from the others in that it required 4 coats. I really wanted to love this one. I'll try it again later.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Smokey pewter-blue with green and golden shimmer that's much prettier in person. The formula was on the thinner side and required 3 coats.

The Living Daylights
A multi-colored (copper, green and silver) hex glitter top coat.  I thought I would have problems with the application but it applied fairly smooth.  I thought this was a fun surprise to the add to the collection of mostly shimmers.

My favorites from this half of the collection are: The Living Daylights, Live and Let Die and On Her Majesty's Secret Service

This limited edition promotion will be available beginning October 2012 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for  $8.50 ($9.95 CAN) suggested retail for each Nail Lacquer.

Color Club Take Wing Collection Summer 2012 - Swatches and Review

Happy Friday! Today I have the Color Club Take Wing Collection to share with you. Inspired by butterflies and metamorphosis, the collection consists of 6 glass-flecked shimmers that will brighten your summer days.

Wing Fling. Gorgeous pink fleck that flashes lilac at some angles.  Very pretty.

Daisy Does It. Very bright lemon yellow. My camera couldn't accurately capture the color and makes it appear more subdued, but believe me it is bright!

Sparkle and Soar. I'm in love with this tangerine shimmer.

Fly With Me. This was my least favorite of the collection but I've seen it look awesome on other skin tones.

Metamorphosis. A green-teal shimmer that flashes a slight blue at an angle.

Sky High. This is one of my favorites from the collection. It has a slight pink shimmer that's barely visible on the nail but it's still gorgeous.

I used two coats of polish for most of the collection, except when it got to the darker colors (Sky High and Metamorphosis), the formula was slightly thinner so they required 3 coats.

Overall the collection is great. This finish is a shimmer glass-flecked which causes your nails to twinkle in the sunlight. Some of the colors remind me of pretty summer cocktails with added citrus garnishes. My favorites from the collection are Sparkle and Soar, Wing Fling and Sky High.

The Take Wing Collection is available now online and at retailers that sale Color Club!

OPI The Amazing Spiderman Collection Swatches and Review

Hello lovelies! Today I have the OPI Spiderman Collection to share with you.

Into The Night. Bright blue shimmer that glows. I only used 2 coats here but probably could have stood for a 3rd.  It still came out great with a smooth application.

My Boyfriend Scales Walls.  At first look I thought it was white but it has grey undertones.  A good alternative if you don't want to wear straight white which can look a little harsh. Two coats.

Call Me Gwen-Ever. Pretty coral-orange. I really love it against my skin tone.  My camera makes it look a little dusty but its actually very vivid.  I used 2 coats here.

Number One Nemesis.  Gorgeous gunmetal green multicolored shimmer.  This one is quite interesting and lovely on the nail.  I used 3 coats here.

Shatter The Scales over Number One Nemesis. Shimmering green shatter with a hint of turquoise.  This was quite pretty over the green glitter.  The combination makes your nails spark in the sun.  I used 1 coat over wet polish.

Your Web Or Mine? Bright pink frost.  Pretty color but very frosty and I couldn't get rid of the lines. I used 2 coats here.

Just Spotted The Lizard.  Golden green duochrome foil.  I used 2 coats here. I couldn't quite get rid of the fine lines.  Still pretty though and a good dupe for the Chanel.

I tried to capture the duochrome here. I actually prefer it more in the shade where the gold is not so obvious.

The collection is nice, although there are quite a few greens, they were my favorites in the collection.  I'm not sure how the pink fits in. It doesn't appear to follow the theme of Spiderman. The green shatter was a surprise favorite. I know everyone is doing shatter now but the shimmer makes it more interesting and it looks great over another shimmer. Overall I like the collection, especially Number One Nemesis and Just Spotted The Lizard.

Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolor Nail Lacquers, Wel-Kim to My World Collection

Nicole by OPI
announces the launch of Wel-Kim to My World, a collection of new nail lacquers inspired by Kim Kardashian. The line features six pastel-hued shades in white, pink, blue and honey tones that give nails a subtle pop of color.

Nothing Kim-pares to Blue
. Cornflower blue with matching shimmer. A great color for the Spring. I used 3 coats to make it opaque.

Others Pale By Kim-parison. It looks very white against my skin but it's actually more of a dark off-white creme. I used 3 coats.

Kim Konfidential - light caramel creme. I really like this one against my skin tone. It might make mannequin hands for some. I wore this one all week and couldn't stop looking at my nails. Its a great neutral when you want a break from bright colors and vamps. I used 4 coats to make it opaque. You may only need 3 if you prefer thicker coats.

Up & Kim-ing Pink. Another fun Spring color. Nicole by OPI describes it as cotton candy pink and I must agree. I used 3 coats to make it opaque.
Here Kim's The Sun. Opalescent sparkle top coat. I added 1 coat over Up & Kim-ing Pink for a little sparkle. A great way to add a little flair to you mani.
Lights, Kim-era, Action. Iridescent shimmering pearl. This one is quite unique to my stash. I used 3 coats here but probably could have added another to perfect the look. My camera made it look quite bright but its actually a little darker in real life.

Lights, Kim-era, Action in natural sunlight.

A view of the entire collection.

All of the polishes applied well and if they perform like Kim Konfidential, will have great wear. Overall the colors are cute for the Spring but great at anytime of the year. Most of them are classic colors that you can wear anywhere. My favorites are Kim Konfidential, Nothing Kim-Pares to Blue and Up & Kim-ing Pink.

Nicole by OPI Nail Lacquers and Nail Treatments contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde. Nicole by OPI formulas are long-lasting, fast-drying, and salon-quality. Wel-Kim to My World will be available April 2012 for $7.99 each at retailers including CVS, Duane Reade, Harmon, Sears, ULTA and Wegmans. In Canada, this line will be available for $10.99 each at Jean Coutu, Loblaw and Shoppers Drug Mart.
