Beauty Deal Alert! Free Makeup Box with $37.50 Estee Lauder Purchase

Hi beauties! Just wanted to make a quick post to alert you of this beauty deal. Macy's is offering a free gift set with $37.50 Estee Lauder purchase.

There are 3 to choose from: Glow, Lift and Detox.  I got the glow set because it's mostly makeup:  mascara, bronzer, lip liner and gloss.  There's also a cleaner and night repair complex but I mostly wanted the makeup.  I've been wanting to try the Doublewear Foundation so I figured this would be a good time.

The other 2 sets are skincare based: lift or detox.

I'm not sure how long this deal will be available.  The website states "while supplies last"!

Lorac Beauty and the Beast Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches

Today I have the new Lorac eyeshadow palette to share with you.  The palette is part of the Beauty and the Beast Limited Edition Collection and contains 16 new and exclusive shades.

The packaging is beautiful and comes in a satin foil finish box.  Simple yet elegant.

Here are all of the shades.  Each row appears to be a collective quad and the colors make a pretty combination.  A double-sided brush is also included.

There's also a baroque styled mirror in the palette.

Swatches of each row:

Row 1: dream it (pearl), time keeper (shimmer), our guest (matte), impress (matte)

Row 2: beast mode (satin), enchanting (satin), swept up (matte w/micro glitter), look beyond (matte)

Row 3: my castle (pearl),  chip in (matte), romance (satin matte), spell breaker (matte w/micro glitter)

Row 4: inner beauty (matte) , tea time (shimmer), tick tock (matte), real you (matte w/micro glitter)

Lorac really paid attention to detail, starting with the elegant packaging of the foil box and baroque mirror.  This palette reminds me of the Disney palette's that were sold in drug stores last year, a one inch palette created in storybook format.  The shadows are buttery and pigmented. I think most will enjoy the shadow selection due to the neutral palette.  It has just the right balance of mattes, satins and glitters!

I purchased the palette from the Lorac website.

Too Faced Glitter Bomb Palette

It's glitter baby!

Today I was lucky enough to get my hands on the Too Faced Glitter Bomb eye shadow palette.  I wasn't sure what to expect but I usually love Too Faced shadows so I snatched it up.

Let's just talk about the packaging for a moment. Isn't it lovely?

There are 8 glitters shadows and 2 bases (white & black).   Honestly, I was slightly disappointed to see the glitters were not as vibrant as the wording on the package.  They are beautiful, just not what I expected. The color range reminds me of the Tarte Make Believe in Yourself palette.  Totally different formulas, but the colors are similar.

If you're familiar with Too Faced glitters, you will easily recognize the dry formula.  They look like nothing on dry skin. You will need a sticky base to get them to pop.

Here are 4 examples of how the base used will effect the outcome.   For my look I used UD Allnighter for a wet application.

Here are the shadows swatches on dry skin using the white and black base provided in the palette.

Look I created using Rose all Day, Work It and Hot Da!n

Watch the shadows in action!

The palette is a little messy to use, but it's glitter which is common.  The colors are gorgeous but not what I expected.   Overall I like the palette but the glitters are not as vibrant as I thought they would be.  Maybe I will enjoy them more if I use glitter glue to intensify the look.  I'm going to try single shadow looks for work paired with a matte to calm things down.

Glitter Bomb retails for $45. I don't have the release date but it was part of Sephora's Fall Preview sale, so I believe it will be available soon!
