New Fall Drugstore Makeup: Milani Metallics

Hey beauties! I stumbled upon, the new Milani Metallics at my local drugstore.  They appear to be part of their Holiday collection (or marketed as such) because they were in a separate display.   I choose one shadow palette and lip creme from the collection.

The shadow palette I choose is Metallic 08 Must Have Metallics Everyday Eyes

The swatches are really speaking for themselves. This palette is like a mini UD Heat palette but better.  All of the colors are gorgeous!

Eye look I created with the palette.

Milani Metallic Lip Cream: Making Me Matte

Video on the above look.

There were 2 lip cremes in the Holiday display.  I chose the darker color Making Me Matte, because I thought it would go along better with the eyeshadow.  There was also a lighter lip creme available.  Like the name suggests the lippie is metallic.  The best thing about it, is that it lasts all day!  The down side is that it can be drying. I countered that by applying lip balm first.

I've been using these 2 products all week and I'm pleasantly surprised. The palette consists of 5 shimmers and one matte black and can be used alone to create an everyday or dramatic evening look. I normally don't wear shimmers as an all over/transition color, but surprisingly it worked!  Color 1, the largest color in the palette, is a shimmer and I was able to use it as an all over/transition color.  It's very pigmented and helped to camouflage my dark circles.   The orange and red (colors 3 and 4) blend effortlessly and the gold (color 2) was great as an inner eye shade.   Of course you can mix and match them however you choose.  Overall, I'm impressed with the performance of these products.  Definitely worth the ten bucks, but an even better deal if you can catch them at BOGO 50% off!

NOTD Madam Glam I Love Winter

Today I have swatches of I love Winter from Madam Glam. It contains gold & pink micro glitter packed throughout a smokey base.

The formula is thick and goes on nicely with one coat, but needed two to become opaque.   From some angles, the glitter looks more like flakes. It's a simple yet stunning combination.

I love winter is available at MadamGlam.com for $10.95.  Their polishes are 5 and cruelty-free.

Easy Halloween Nail Stamping

I can't believe the year is almost over. Less than 100 days to Christmas and one of my favorite Holidays is right around the corner.  Yassssss!  It's time for spooky lights and tons of candy!

While I won't be having all of the candy I want this year, I will make time for lots of fun decorations and manicures of course.

I'm starting the Holiday season off with this easy nail stamping design. As I sorted through my stack of Halloween plates, I grabbed randoms which I thought were too cute to pass up.  I ended up with D04, W116, Handy 2, Handy 11, BM 209 and BM 224. All of these stamped over China Glaze Halloween 2015 green, orange and purple.

Stamping colors: KleanColor Black and Purple Sapphire, Pure Ice Silver Mercedes.

I think it turned out pretty cute (if I do say so myself :)

I hope you like this design as well. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Manicure - Waterless Water Marble

Christmas is almost here! My where has the year gone? I really planned on creating several Christmas manicures but I've been so busy lately. And my schedule is always thrown off whenever I go on vacation.  Nevertheless, I was able to create this nail of the day using a simple  waterless marble technique.

The colors I chose are: Wet N' Wild White, Orly Green Apple and Nicole by OPI Berry Sweet. I added a Christmas sticker on my thumbs (Viva LA Nails) for a little flare.

I really like how this turned out. Easy, fast and cute. You can't beat that combination!

I hope you all are having a great week!!! Thanks for stopping by :)

Dark Hearts

I almost forgot to share a design I created for Valentines Day. For the base I  used China Glaze Bogie then sprinkled a little StudioM  (Massini) Drama Queen on top. I completed the mani by stamping with Bunnys Nails Holiday plate.

Bogie and Drama Queen alone. The looks so pretty together I almost didn't want to stop over them.

Do you like this combo? I think I'll wear them together again in the future.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Valentine Hearts

Just a quick post tonight to share another Valentine mani. This time I used Misa Double Dutch as the base and topped it off with Lush Lacquer's Santa Baby. I was so happy to be able to use the polish because I didn't get a chance to during the Christmas season. I made sure not to get black on the brush when I dabbed it on.  The hearts are from the Salon Express Kit stamping kit.

I like the way it turned out. Hope you like it to. Thanks for stopping by!

Getting Ready for Valentine's Day

Today's mani is Valentines Day inspired. For the base I used Sally Hansen Crinoline a very pale nude. Then topped it off with I Love Nail Polish Animal Cookie. For stamping I used Messy Mansion and Fauxnad image plates with Sally Hansen Presto Pink (middle) and Magenta Motion (pinky).

A slightly closer view to show the details in the glitter.

I hope you like this mani as much as I do. Thanks for stopping by :)

Happy New Year!!!

I hope this year brings all your dreams come true. Nail polish and otherwise!!!

Today's mani was done using Messy Mansion image plates. Aren't these the cutest images? I saw the group party shot and I just knew I had to sport this stamp.

For the base coat I used Finger Paints Black Expressionism.  I usually go with Wet N' Wild black but I may have to add this into rotation. It went on in one smooth, semi-thick coat and hasn't chipped so far.  I used China Glaze 2030 for stamping. Then topped it off with a silver micro glitter by Klean Colors.

I hope you like this mani as much as I do. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Christmas Decorations Mani

Yesterday I created a mani for Adventures in Stamping Sunday Challenge. This week's challenge was Christmas Decorations.

For the base color I used Sally Hansen Pronto Purple and created the gradient with China Glaze Emotion topped with StudioM (Massini) True Passion.  For the accent nails I used a base of Color Club Foil Me Once and stamped with Pronto Purple using a fauxnad image plate.

A side view with my pink Angel.

I hope you like this Christmas mani. Have a great Christmas and wonderful Holiday Season!!!

Merry Christmas Trees

Wow! It's almost the end of the year. I can't believe how fast time flies. Another Christmas is almost upon us and I'm forcing myself to put some of my Christmas stamps to work.

Today I'm sharing a mani done with my new Gals image plates The Fairy Set by Cheeky (GA27).  The images are a lot smaller than Cheeky's summer collection, but they are just right for my nubbins. The first stamp I tried is the collage of Christmas Trees. This is one of my favorite images from the set.

For the base color I used China Glaze With Love. Then stamped with Sally Hansen Jumpin' Jade.  Jade is awesome for stamping. So glad I swooped it up from the Dollar Store.

I really love how this turned out. Hope you like it too :)

Happy Memorial Day!

My nail of the day is a flag mani for the Holiday.  I used Cheeky image plate CH4 for the stars and stripes. For stamping I used Konad white, Sally Hansen insta dry in Racin' Red and In-A-Blink Blue for the base.

It actually looked great without the stripes. I'll have to try this image plate again for a wavy French tip.

My daughter loves them. I hope you do to. Happy Holiday :)

Valentine's Day Nails

Hello lovelies! Today I'm sharing my Valentine's Day nails. For this look I used Zoya Sooki and topped it off with CoverGirl Gold Front. I stamped using Daschica's Beauty image plates SdP-A14 (cupid - the number is slightly missing but I believe it's A14) and SdP-B09 for the hearts.

A swatch two coats of Sooki. I love saying that name, lol.

Sooki topped with old school Cover Girl FrostSlicks in Gold Front. I'm so happy I ran across this at the Dollar Store. It gives the nail a touch of glam.

Do you have anything fun planned for Valentine's Day?
Hubby and I went out already over the weekend so I'll probably spend the day with my girls and finish making our Valentines tree house :)

Happy New Year!!!

I hope the year brings many blessings to you all!!!

The year is starting off great for me so far. I woke up without the slightest headache after a long night of partying, the weather is great here and Hubby is winning his Fantasy Football league :) These are small things, I know, but you have to appreciate the little things in life.

For my first post of the year, I want to share my New Years Eve mani. I got the idea from one of my favorite bloggers Polish Hoarder Disorder.

I added a holographic glitter topcoat. It adds a slight shimmer of pink and blue.

It also looks great without numbers.

How to create his look:
1. Base color of LA Colors LIVE (silver foil)
2. Paint tips black
3. Black glitter gradient using Uninhibited
4. Stamp in Konad white (plate M64)
5. Sinful Colors holographic glitter (#79 opal glitter)
6. Stamp numbers (plate M42)
7. Topcoat

It may sound complicated but it was quite easy. See PHD's tutorial for a quick look at the glitter gradient. I skipped the rhinestones and added holographic glitter instead. I hope you like this design. I love it!

Thanks for stopping by. Happy New Year!!!

Holiday Manis

Hope you're enjoying the Holidays! I had a great Christmas but now all I want to do is sleep and eat chocolate chip cookies. Part of me wants to get up and get moving but the other part wants to sit back, relax and enjoy the break :D

My current nail of the day is a foil stamp using the Red Angel plate RA-107. I really like the flower petal image so I tried it again with the Color Club Foil Collection over Wet N' Wild Black Creme. The outcome was a very dramatic but I like it!

The colors I choose were Cold Metal (blue), Perfect Molten (green), Hot Like Lava (pink) and Sally Hansen Silver Sweep. To create this look I randomly placed dots of each polish over the image then swiped. The colors will combine to create a swirled appearance. The silver is very dominant so you only need a smidgen.

I love this so much I might wear it for New Years Eve!

And my simple Christmas mani. I used 1 coat of Wet N' Wild Hallucinate and sponged Milani Melt In The Sun over it. The nail decal is by Born Pretty.

And those are my Holiday manis. Until next time, Happy Polishing!

Zoya Gems and Jewels Holiday 2011 Collection, Swatches and Review

Hello everyone! I hope you're having a great week so far. Tonight I wanted to share the Zoya Gems and Jewels Collection with you.

Holly - emerald green shimmer, 2 coats. Indirect sunlight.

Holly in the shade.

Rina
- shimmering green microglitter with accent green-blue bar glitter. One coat over Holly.

Twila over Rina - another combo to show how cute these are when they're layered.

Izzy
- quick drying fuchsia shimmer that applied in 2 coats.

Kissy - cherry crimson microglitter with holographic bar glitter highlights. One coat over Izzy.

Noel - icy blue metallic shimmer. Two coats.

Twila - bright blue microglitter with blue bar glitter highlights in a clear base. One coat over Noel.

Closer view of Twila and more color accurate.

More layering fun, Kissy over Twila.

The glitters glazes are packed with shimmering microglitter and sparse bar glitter for highlights. The great thing about the glazes is that they can be layered over a basecoat or on top of each other to create different looks. They do need to be patted on, in my opinion, for better application. For the pieces that didn't lie flat I gently patted them down with a toothpick. This is a common occurrence with most of the bar glitters I own so it was no surprise here. All of the shimmers have a great formula, applied smoothly and dried quickly. Noes is my favorite shimmer and Twila is my favorite glaze. Overall this is a fun set for the Holidays even if you're not a bar glitter fan.

The Zoya Gems and Jewels Collection is available now at Zoya.com.
