NYC Crystal Coutoure Fashion Queen Collection

Hey Beauties! Today I have a few of the NYC Crystal Couture Collection to share with You.  The collection consists of 6 shimmering shades that can be worn alone or as top coats.  I have 3 of the six shades.

From left to right: Queen's Jewels, NY Princess and Rule the City.

Queen's Jewels - Green base with bright green microglitter. I used 2 coats over white.
Rule the City - Grey base with silver and red microglitter. I used 1 coat over grey.
NY Princess - Dark purple base with medium light purple hex glitter and blue microglitter. I used 1 coat over dark purple.

All of the polishes have a medium consistency but went on thick enough to stand as a polish alone instead of a top coat.  NY Princess (purple) was the thickest of the three and my favorite from the set. I think these will be great for the Fall and the green reminds me of the Christmas season.  One of the best things about these polishes is the price point, at $1.99 it's easier to afford more.

I don't have a release date for the collection but they will be available at drug store chains that carry NYC.  Hopefully they will appear in your area soon!

OPI Brazil Spring and Summer 2014 Collection - Swatches and Review

Hello everyone! Today I have the OPI Brazil Collection to share with you. Starting with quick swatches of the Brazil Sands.  All of the polishes were 3 coaters, but the yellow (You're So Flippy Floppy) was surprisingly a 2 coater. They are pretty flat but the colors are still pretty. My favorite is the purple (Somebody Loves Purple).

I Just Can't Cope-acabana is a beautiful canary yellow creme, opaque in 3 coats. This was one of the stand outs in the collection for me.

Kiss Me I'm Brazilian. I love this one just for the name. A pretty girly pink for the Spring. Opaque in 2 coats. I like here :)

Where Did Suzi's Man-Go? Another pretty color for the spring. I used 3 coats but could have gotten away with 2. I also love this color, maybe not the most unique, but really pretty.

Toucan Do It if You Try. Two coat coral. I'm sorry but my camera is really changing the color here.  Please see the video on this collection for better color accuracy.

Live Love Carnival. Similar to Toucan but I like it better. My camera is changing the color again but it's more of a hot coral, if that makes since. I know some are in love with this color but the 2 corals are my least favorite from the collection.

Toucan and Live Love Carnival side by side for comparison.

Don't Bossa Nova Me Around.  I'm not sure how to describe this color it's light grey with a hint of pink/purple. Very pretty and I think this would look great on most skins tones.  I used 3 coats.

Taupe-less Beach - Similar to Bossa but 3 to 4 shades darker.  The formula was also slightly thicker and only needed 2 coats.

I Saa Paulo Over There.  Another great creme that falls in line with Taupe-less Beach. I used 2 coats.

Next Stop...The Bikini Zone. Grey/violet shimmer finish. I needed 3 coats to make it opaque. In the bottle it almost looks duochrome but sadly it's not.

Amazon...Amazeoff. Gorgeous and absolutely my fave from the collection! This is the most unique to my stash. Be careful because it stains quickly, even when only swatching I got stains. I used 2 coats here. Teal creme with a pearlesque finish.

OPI Scores A Goal! Pretty but not very unique. Almost a dusty burgundy opaque with 2 coats.

Red Hot Rio. I'm not a fan of red but I really love this. So shiny and sheer it's almost a jelly. I used 2 coats and it has a lot of gloss going on without a top coat. Another fave from the collection.

I like the collection but with the theme being Brazil I would have loved to see a bright green or blue.  The colors in the collection are pretty but with so many cremes, there are probably a lot of dupes out there. Overall I believe everyone can find something they like here. If not for the colors, for the names. OPI really got creative and must have had a blast selecting names for this collection.

The Brazil Collection is available now at retailers that carry OPI.

Fing'rs Nail Edge Tattoos

Hello Beauties! Today I wanted to share my nail of the day using Fing'rs Nail Edge Tattoos. You may remember them from my haul post.  I purchased the from Wal-Mart for about $8. The set contains 3 different designs (tattoos), which are basically water decals. I choose the map image to try.

The application was super easy, even easier than some other water decals I've tried in the past. I used the beige and grey that came in the box, Finger Paints Black Expressionism and Creative Candy Apple Red.

To see the transfers in action check out my latest video.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Zoya PixieDust Matte Sparkle Spring 2013 Collection - Swatches and Revew

Hello beauties! Today I have the Zoya PixieDust Collection to share with you.  The collection consists of 6 matte textured polishes that look great alone as well as with a top coat.

"This newly developed formula is sure to captivate with a magical sparkle and sugary finish like no other.  The color experts at Zoya have created six, long-wearing stunners for the introduction of this look."

Chyna - lovely pomegranate textured polish with shades of deep crimson and red glitter. I'm in love with the color.  Very stunning.

It reminds me of Ruby Pumps when glossy but far more interesting. It almost has a jelly look, where you can see through layers, when a top coat is applied.

Dahlia - intense graphite black sand with silver glitter throughout. It looks amazing on the nail and the glitter really pops when a top coat is applied. I used 2 coats of Dahlia.

Dahlia with 2 coats of clear to glossify. Isn't this a beauty?

London - smokey grey with silver glitter throughout. I used 2 coats to achieve this look.

London with 1 layer of top coat.

Godiva. Soft nude sparkle. It reminds me of All Hail The Queen but with more sparkle. I used 2 coats.

Godiva with 1 layer of top coat to glossify.

Nyx - bright periwinkle sand with shimmering glitter throughout. Very soft and feminine.  The formula on Nyx was a little thinner than the others.  I used 2 coats.

I added another coat plus a top coat to glossify.

Vespa - mint kiss sparkle. Another soft and feminine sand color with shimmer throughout. I used 2 coats.

A base coat is not recommended to be used with the polish. I didn't use a base coat when I swatched them and they applied smoothly without any problems.  A top coat is not recommended in order to create the Pixie Dust matte effect but I added it just for fun to see the outcome.

Overall the collection is great. Textured polishes are a nice switch from the norm and are very interesting to look at on the nail.  They're not too gritty and won't snag your hair.  They also look amazing glossified so it's like getting 2 polishes in 1.  Plus they all have that hidden glitter shimmering effect which creates a sparkle on the nail.  The brights are pretty for a soft look but for striking glamour go with the intensified black and red, Chyna and Dahlia.

The PixieDust Collection is available at Zoya.com. $8.00 each (US)

Pure Ice - 5 Shades of Grey, Swatches and Review

Good morning beauties! Today I have five shades of grey from Pure Ice to share with you.

Beware
Beware has a clear base loaded with micro silver glitter.  I sponged it over Eyes of Steel and then matted it to get that "industrial" look.  I love how it came out!  Beware is a must have for all glitter fanatics, as it looks great layered and alone.

Silver Mercedes
Silver Mercedes is a true silver chrome that went on smoothly. This is two coats without a base coat.  I was afraid it would show my nail ridges but they didn't show through. You do have to be care with the brush strokes to make them blend. I can't believe I never tried this silver before. I hear it's also great for stamping which is a plus!

Eyes of Steel
Eyes of Steel is a smokey charcoal chrome that went on well with two coats. The brush strokes are more obvious here, but it could be due to my application.  I'm not sure if it stamps well but I'm going to try it out soon.

Electric
Black base with silver shimmer throughout. Unlike some formulas, the shimmer is very obvious on the nail and softens the look of black and makes it more of a charcoal.  I used two coats here.

Lightning Strikes
Lightning Strikes is a shimmering silver crackle. I used 1 coat over Eyes of Steel.  I think it crackled well but I should have waited for my base coat to dry before applying.

These polishes are sleek and very affordable at $2-4.  A great "steel" for the price.  The 5 shades of grey are available now at Wal-Mart or at Bariscosmetics.com. Silver Mercedes and Beware are my favorites from the set!

China Glaze On Safari Collection Fall 2012 - Native Swatches and Review

Good morning beauties! Today I have part II of the On Safari Collection to share with you! You can view part I of the Collection here

Man Hunt
A bold and bright cobalt blue creme.  I really love this color. I'm not sure if I have anything like it in my current stash.  Two Coats.

Elephant Walk
Grey creme with an invisible shimmer. This was my least favorite from the bunch. Grey just doesn't look good on me.  It will probably look awesome on other skin tones though.

Exotic Encounters
Dusty teal creme. Very pretty and one of my favorites from this half of the collection.  I used 2 coats.

Jungle Creme
I've seen this color so many times over the past year. Charcoal purple with a light purple shimmer. A good Paradoxal dupe if you don't have the original. Two coats.

Purr-Fect Plum
Dirty cherry berry creme. I really like this color and the formula much better than the others. I used 2 thin coats.

Prey Tell
Jelly-ish wine/burgundy creme. Pretty but it feels familiar. I used 2 coats but could have gone for a third.

China Glaze did a good job capturing the Safari feel.  Man Hunt doesn't seem to fit in the collection, but it's one of my favorites so I won't complain.  My other favorites from the Native set are Purr-Fect Plum and Exotic Encounters. Although I have more favorites in this set, I prefer the Tourist half of the collection which is more glittery and bright.  Who says a girl can't have a little glam while On Safari?

The On Safari Collection is available now at beauty Etailers, Amazon and Ebay for about $3 per bottle.

OPI New York City Ballet (NYCB) Softshades Collection Swatches & Review

Hello beauties! Today I have the OPI NYCB Collection to share with you. The shades are designed to be sheer but I applied various coats to achieve an almost jelly opaque finish.

You Callin' Me A Lyre? This was my favorite from the collection of sheers because it looked the most natural on me. It's a soft shade of pink, not quite baby pink, but more of a dusty hue. Four coats were required to make it opaque. You can still see some visible nail line though.

Pirouette My Whistle over You Callin' Me A Lyre? I'm so in love with this topcoat. Its similar to Nubar White Dots but much more beautiful. It has tiny sparkling silver glitter and medium white, almost sheer, hex glitter in a clear base. A simple yet gorgeous combination.
Don't Touch My Tutu! Milky white sheer that required 4 coats to become opaque.

Pirouette My Whistle over Don't Touch My Tutu! Gorgeous combo.

Care To Danse? Soft lilac sheer. Also required 4 coats.

Pirouette My Whistle over Care To Danse?

Barre My Soul. Very soft beige. I also used 4 coats here.

Piroutte My Whistle over Barre My Soul.

My Pointe Exactly. Another favorite from the collection. Soft grey sheer with a hint of blue.

Piroutte My Whistle over My Pointe Exactly.

All of the shades are sheer but I applied them to be opaque. At first I didn't think they would build up at all but they turned out well. A lot of coats are required to make them opaque though. This set is ultra conservative but the sparkling top coat brings the glam to the collection. Overall I like them but they are sheer, I usually prefer more opaque formulas and less coats. They are definitely elegant and you can without a thought wear them in any setting. I really love the glitter topcoat, it's dazzling without being over the top. All of them, except My Pointe Exactly, would make great bases for French manicures. My favorites from the collection are You Callin' Me A Lyre?, My Pointe Exactly and Piroutte My Whistle.

The New York City Ballet Collection will be available April 2012 but have started to appear online already.
