China Glaze Road Trip 2015 Collection - Swatches and Review

Let's take a road trip baby!!!

Hey beauties. Today I'm sharing the road trip collection with you.  The set consists of 12 cremes with 4 of them laced with hidden shimmer.

Here are quick swatches of each color. I grouped them together to compare and contrast differences and similarties. I started with the peaches and brights. From left to right: Wanderlust, Pack Lightly, More to Explore, and Pinking Out the Window,

Wanderlust - 3 coater lilac with hidden pink shimmer. Surprise favorte!
Pack Lightly - Light peach creme with hidden gold shimmer. Very cute and classic 3 coater.
More to Explore - Gorgeous peach 2 coater. I love this one!
Pinking out the Window - dusty but bright pink creme. Another suprise favortie!

The next 4 in the collection were my least favorites because I have polishes similar to them. From left to right: Sun's Up Top Down, Trip of a Lime Time, Pop the Trunk and I Brake for Colour.

Sun's Up Top Down - sunshine yellow creme with pink shimmer. Another 3 coater.
Trip of a Lime Time - baby food pea green creme. Two coater but too familiar.
Pop the Trunk - bright orange creme 2 coater.
I Brake for Colour - tomato red/coral 2 coater. This color is so similar to Pop the Trunk I almost mixed them up. It's really difficult to tell the difference.

Next are my absolute favorites from the collection!!! I'm in love with these blues! From left to right: My Way or the Highway, License & Registration PLS, Boho Blues and Dashboard Dreamer.

My Way or the Highway - dusty yet bright teal creme 2 coater.
License & Registration PLS - vibrant medium blue creme, 2 coats.
Boho Blues - periwinkle blue 2 coat stunner.
Dashboard Dreamer - baby blue with hidden pink shimmer 3 coater.

This is a gorgeous collection for the Spring.I'm in love with the blues and peaches in the collection. The red, orange, yellow and green were my least favorites because they are too familiar.  The collection is all creme so there are probably several dupes out there but Boho Blues is definitely worth considering.  Overall this set Screams Spring!

The polishes are available online now. I purchased this set from Transdesign.com. I haven't seen them in retail stores but I'm sure they'll arrive soon.

China Glaze On The Horizon Feather Collection Fall 2013 - Swatches and Review

Hey lovelies! Today I have swatches of the new China Glaze On The Horizon Collection to share with you. I thought these would be really cute for the Fall so I scooped them up. There are 6 feathers (mini bar glitters) in the collection of various colors. Most of them have Fall inspiration with hints of orange and black and would be great for the Halloween season.

I swatched them over black and white. My first 2 nails have a black base, and my last 2 have a white base.

Dark Hearts

I almost forgot to share a design I created for Valentines Day. For the base I  used China Glaze Bogie then sprinkled a little StudioM  (Massini) Drama Queen on top. I completed the mani by stamping with Bunnys Nails Holiday plate.

Bogie and Drama Queen alone. The looks so pretty together I almost didn't want to stop over them.

Do you like this combo? I think I'll wear them together again in the future.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Christmas Decorations Mani

Yesterday I created a mani for Adventures in Stamping Sunday Challenge. This week's challenge was Christmas Decorations.

For the base color I used Sally Hansen Pronto Purple and created the gradient with China Glaze Emotion topped with StudioM (Massini) True Passion.  For the accent nails I used a base of Color Club Foil Me Once and stamped with Pronto Purple using a fauxnad image plate.

A side view with my pink Angel.

I hope you like this Christmas mani. Have a great Christmas and wonderful Holiday Season!!!

Christmas Gifts

Christmas mani done using fauxnad image plates over Sally Hansen Jumpin' Jade and China Glaze Mistletoe Kisses.

Super easy and quick. Inspired by one of my nail friends at Adventures in Stamping. Hope you like it :)

Merry Christmas Trees

Wow! It's almost the end of the year. I can't believe how fast time flies. Another Christmas is almost upon us and I'm forcing myself to put some of my Christmas stamps to work.

Today I'm sharing a mani done with my new Gals image plates The Fairy Set by Cheeky (GA27).  The images are a lot smaller than Cheeky's summer collection, but they are just right for my nubbins. The first stamp I tried is the collage of Christmas Trees. This is one of my favorite images from the set.

For the base color I used China Glaze With Love. Then stamped with Sally Hansen Jumpin' Jade.  Jade is awesome for stamping. So glad I swooped it up from the Dollar Store.

I really love how this turned out. Hope you like it too :)

China Glaze Holiday Season Joy Collection 2012 - Swatches and Review

Happy Monday! Today I have the China Glaze Holiday Collection to share with you. So without further delay, here are the swatches.

Glitter All The Way
By far my favorite from the collection. A mix of multiple colors and various sizes of glitter. Very pretty for the Holiday but it reminds me of Mardis Gras. I used 3 thin coats.

A closer view.

Winter Holly
Emerald green glitter with micro gold glitter accents. I used 2 coats.

Angel Wings
I was less impressed with the next 3 glitters coming up (Angel Wings, Glistening Snow and Champange Kisses). They all had the same feel but different colors (gold, silver and champagne).  I used 2 coats of Angel Wings, a golden holographic glitter in a gold base.

Glistening Snow
The silver version of Angel Wings. My least favorite of the 3. I used 2 coats.

Champagne Kisses
This was my favorite of the 3. I'm not sure if its because it suits my skin tone the best, but I like it. I used 2 coats.

Pure Joy
Red and gold microglitter with medium gold glitter throughout a clear base. Easy application. I used 1 layer over Cranberry Splash.

Pizzazz
Another favorite from the collection. A combination of pink, silver, yellow, blue and green glitter. I used 1 coat over Blue Bells Ring.

Blue Bells Ring
I really love this icy blue. The silver in the base makes it look much lighter in the bottle, but it applies a shade or two darker. Extremely pretty! The application was also flawless. I used 1 coat.

Merry Berry
My favorite from the collection of reds but probably an easy dupe. I used 3 coats.

Cranberry Splash
My camera couldn't capture the foil highlights in this polish. Much prettier in person. I used 2 coats.

Red Satin
I kept thinking Red Satan instead of Satin, LOL. Three thin watery coats with a little visible nail line.  Described as a pure red creme and I agree.

With Love
Bright orange-red creme with a great application. I used 2 coats.

Overall I think there's a little something for everyone in this collection.  I really like the glitters but I could have done without so many red polishes. Most of the collection applied smoothly and needed only 2 coats.  The holographic glitters dried matte but the shine was easily renewed with a top quick coat.  My favorites from the collection are Glitter All The Way, Winter Holly, Blue Bells Ring and Pizzazz.

China Glaze On Safari Collection Fall 2012 - Native Swatches and Review

Good morning beauties! Today I have part II of the On Safari Collection to share with you! You can view part I of the Collection here

Man Hunt
A bold and bright cobalt blue creme.  I really love this color. I'm not sure if I have anything like it in my current stash.  Two Coats.

Elephant Walk
Grey creme with an invisible shimmer. This was my least favorite from the bunch. Grey just doesn't look good on me.  It will probably look awesome on other skin tones though.

Exotic Encounters
Dusty teal creme. Very pretty and one of my favorites from this half of the collection.  I used 2 coats.

Jungle Creme
I've seen this color so many times over the past year. Charcoal purple with a light purple shimmer. A good Paradoxal dupe if you don't have the original. Two coats.

Purr-Fect Plum
Dirty cherry berry creme. I really like this color and the formula much better than the others. I used 2 thin coats.

Prey Tell
Jelly-ish wine/burgundy creme. Pretty but it feels familiar. I used 2 coats but could have gone for a third.

China Glaze did a good job capturing the Safari feel.  Man Hunt doesn't seem to fit in the collection, but it's one of my favorites so I won't complain.  My other favorites from the Native set are Purr-Fect Plum and Exotic Encounters. Although I have more favorites in this set, I prefer the Tourist half of the collection which is more glittery and bright.  Who says a girl can't have a little glam while On Safari?

The On Safari Collection is available now at beauty Etailers, Amazon and Ebay for about $3 per bottle.

China Glaze On Safari Collection Fall 2012 - Tourist Swatches and Review

Adventure Red-Y
Cherry brick-red. This one is gorgeous! A great red to wear to work without raising everyone's eyebrows. Very sultry and a surprise favorite. I used 2 coats.

Call of the Wild
Dark chocolate creme. I used 2 coats here.

Desert Sun
This one doesn't look like the sun at all, it's more of a caramel creme. I think most will either love or hate this color. I personally love it. I used 2 coats here.

I Herd That
Clear base with tiny red, bronze and gold holographic glitter.  I used 1 coat over Desert Sun. This one is cute but it reminds me of Finger Paints Holly Good Time.  I searched all over for Holly Good Time last year and finally found it but wasn't crazy about it. For some reason I like this one better.  Maybe it's the combination over the caramel.

Kalahari Kiss
2 coats with topcoat.  Neutral khaki creme. Thick formula but I think my bottle was opened accidentally during shipping.

I'm Not Lion
Neutral base filled with tiny silver and gold holographic glitter. I found this a little on the thick side which is great if you want to use it alone. I layered 1 coat it over Kalahari Kiss.  It dried matte but livened up with a top coat.

This half of the collection is nice.  I found the formula a little thicker than what I personally prefer, but it allowed coverage in 2 coats for most of the polishes. My favorites from this half of the collection are Adventure Red-y which is a surprise because I rarely wear reds.  My other favorite is I'm Not Lion.  The others I feel like I've seen before somewhere in my collection.  They are worth checking out if you don't own them though.  Overall this set will wear great for the Fall.

China Glaze Safara is available now online at several etailers, Amazon and Ebay!

China Glaze Electropop Swatches, Spring 2012

Good morning beautiful! Today I have a few of the Electropop colors to share with you. The collection consists of 12 bright cremes, shimmers, and one holographic glitter. I have 3 of the 12 to share with you, starting with my favorite:

Aquadelic - bright aqua/blue creme with a hint of green. It's so vibrant and pretty that it announces Spring! It was opaque in 2 coats.
Gaga for Green
- bright green creme, almost jelly formula. Love the look outcome. It reminds me of candy apples. It was thinner than I expected but I only needed 3 coats.

Gothic Lolita
- bright red toned purple with blue/purple shimmer. The shimmer is not very noticeable but its still pretty on the nail. I only needed to coats.

These are fun, cheery brights that get you in the mood for Spring. Aquadelic and Gaga for Green are from the Brights half of the Collection. While Gothic Lolita is from the Lights portion of the Collection.

The China Glaze Electropop Collections is available now online and in retailers that carry China Glaze.

NOTD William Tell Me About OPI + Red Angel 108

I hope your new year is going well so far. I've committed to a healthier me in 2012 and started up a new workout routine. I guess it's not really a new routine but a more frequent effort. I'm still in pain from yesterday's interval workout. I ran and walked 2 mile intervals on 6.0, 5.0 and 3.5 mph. My legs are on fire but that's a good thing because that means it's working.

I was too tired to workout today so I decided to remove my New Years mani. For the base I went with William Tell Me About OPI, a dark eggplant creme. I used 2 coats which dried pretty quickly then stamped using China Glaze 2030 and Red Angel image plate 108.

Here's 2 coats of William Tell Me About OPI sans stamping.

And that's all for today. I have to go soak my legs in Aspercreme. Thanks for stopping by!

Top 11 of 2011, My Favorite Polishes of the Year!

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up string
These a few of my favorite things....

My favorite polishes of the year in no particular order

Oh my
Megan you're such a gem. Elegant and sophisticated. Although it's not your typical neutral I think it can pass in various environments.

I think I finally figured out how to create the perfect movie manicure. You know the one that Jennifer Aniston usually wears in movies.
Mousseline takes a few coats but it's like cushiony clouds once you get there.

The perfect little topcoat to quickly spice up a mani, Nubar White Dots.

The perfect Holiday green Glittering Garland.

I coveted the magnetics from a far throughout 2010 and was thrilled when they made it to the US in 2011. One of my favorites the year, Layla
Black Metal.
The Special Effects arrived late this year but just in time to ignite a fire on my nails.
Twisted was my favorite from the collection of five. I know a lot of people don't like the density of the polish but I think it's perfect because it allows me to create the look I'm going for. I can be a demure vixen with 1 coat or take it into overdrive with several coats.

Khloe Had A Little Lam Lam. Need I say more?

Change your Holiday vision. Blue is not a color that comes to mind during the Holidays but
Snow-Man of My Dreams was the perfect mate this year.

The Lovely Gayle. This muted one coat-er won me over.

My first neutral glitter, or should I say a neutral based.
Glitter in the Air makes me happy :)

First Mate. A stunning cobalt blue that's sure to turn heads.

The return of DS polishes. We were all hoping for holographics but were gifted with glitter instead. With the mix of purple, blue and pink used to make
DS Temptation, I'm not complaining.

Perfecting a Dupe. This may be one of the most popular Revlon's of the year. A duplicate to Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance,
Facets of Fuschia, was definitely a favorite of mine.

While the excitement over crackles has died down there were a few stars amongst the bunch. Clean Break was one of my favorites from the plethora of crackles that were released in 2011. It was one of the few that cracked wide enough to allow ample room to visualize the base color. Go Color Club for mastering this formula!

And there you have it. A few of my favorites. Yes I know, I went well over 11 polishes but I just couldn't narrow it down!

I hope you enjoyed my selections. Until next time, Happy Polishing!
