Hello beauties! A quick post to share my nail of the day. I was in a playful mood so I tried out my new Monster High image plate. I created nail decals by using the Messy Mansion method.
For the base colors I used Sally Hansen Presto Pink and Brisk Blue. For the accent nail I used WnW White then topped it with the nail decal while wet.
Here are the steps to make the decals. If you're familiar with stamping it's pretty easy. Stamp the image and allow to dry. Then paint directly onto the stamper, allow to dry, peel off and apply to your nails. Messy Mansion has complete, more detailed, directions on her website. A helpful hint is to make sure your stamper is completely clean or the polish will transfer onto your decal.
To fill in the image I used Born Pretty's nail art brushes. If you don't have a nail art brush, you can also use a toothpick but the results won't be as precise.
I hope you enjoyed this mani as much as I enjoyed looking down at my hands today :)
Thanks to Messy Mansion for sharing this method. I see a lot more DYI decals in my future.
This technique is genius, I have to try it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, and nice manicure :)
Glad you liked it :)
DeletePretty cool I never heard of this method. Thanks for sharing and I'll checkout Messy Mansion :)
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable and I love the make your own decal idea. Perfect for doing your non dominant hand! I really like the stamping you used, I think I will have to take a look at the Messy Mansion plates. Thanks for sharing this cute mani!
ReplyDeleteYes I agree. No more sloppy's on my right hand.
Deleteso funny)
ReplyDeleteVery cute! And I'll have to try that method someday. I'm envisioning some good freehand decals.
ReplyDeleteThis turned out so great! I definitely need to pick up some nail art brushes soon.
ReplyDeleteYou can also use a toothpick. That's what I used the first time I tried it. The brush is good for getting between the lines.
DeleteThis is great! I can't wait to try this technique, thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. Thanks to Messy Mansion for the idea.
Deletewow! too perfect! beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this whole decal thing!! I can't wait to try it! I wonder if it works with acrylic paint??
ReplyDeleteYes. I'm pretty sure it will and will dry ten times faster. I choose polish because I don't have a tan paint.
DeleteOMG! Where did you find the Monster High stamping plate? My daughters (and I) would love it!
ReplyDeleteI got it from an indie image plate maker/seller on Facebook. Her name is Sylvia Zambrano.
DeleteThanks for replying and Happy Easter! Do you know if she let's everyone order or is it just for bloggers? I tried to find her page but there are a lot of profiles with her name. Thanks in advance.
DeleteI believe it's for anyone. I hesitated to put her info on here, but she published it on Facebook so I guess it's okay. Here's a link to her FB https://www.facebook.com/sylvia.zambrano.77
DeleteHope that works.
Well thanks so much, I appreciate you helping me!
