OPI OZ The Great and Powerful Collection - Swatches and Review

Tonight I have the OPI Oz Collection to share with you.  Click to read more!

Don't Burst My Bubble
Sheer white jelly with a slight hint of pink. It had a thin formula and I had to use 4 coats to achieve this look. Very pretty and worth it though for that squishy jelly effect.

Lights of Emerald City
Large white square glitter with medium iridescent square glitter. Amazing in the bottle and equally as pretty on the nail. Very nice, I just wish it was packed more densely.  I had to make several dips into the bottle to get full coverage. I do love the effect though. So subtle and and elegant. The light hits the nail and gives off sparkle but it's not obvious you're wearing glitter.

I Theodora You
Chalky pink jelly with a formula similar to Don't Burst My Bubble. Slightly thicker, but still required 4 coats. I almost prefer the thinner formula because it makes jellies easier to apply. It's about 2 shades darker than my picture appears, my camera washed it out slightly.

Which is Witch?
Extremely fine holographic bar glitter mixed with hex glitter in a clear base. I used 1 coat over I Theodora You. I love these 2 together!

Glints of Glinda
Neutral salmon-beige sheer with a thin formula similar to Don't Burst My Bubble. I used 3 coats to achieve this look.

When Monkey's Fly
Large gold hex glitter with medium holographic glitter in a clear base.  First of all, my bottle was broken when it arrived. I had to reconstitute it using polish thinner, so I'm sure what I created is not true to the original density.  That being said, the gold glitter curved a lot.  I had to flip the glitter over and press it down into the polish to get it to lay flat. Some of them still curved up though.  I used 1 coat over Glints of Glinda.

What Wizardry is This?
Golden bronze sand.  The sand effect using a darker color reminds me of animal skin, think leather. I used 2 coats to achieve this look.

I added 2 coats of sheer to give it a glossy finish.

I'm surprised there were so many neutrals given the theme of the collection, but OPI made it work.  My biggest disappointment is When Monkey's Fly due to the curling glitter. It can still be worn but will require a little more work than I prefer. The jellies are great because they can be worn alone or jazzed up with your favorite glitter top coat but the stand-outs to me are the glitters (Which is Witch and Lights of Emerald City), because they are different from anything I have in my collection right now. I also like how they are bold yet sophisticated, which can be difficult to pull off.  Overall, I like the collection and there are some stars that are definitely worth owning.

The OZ Great and Powerful Collection is available now at fine retailers that carry OPI.

~This polish was sent for review but does not affect my opinion. My opinions are my own~

  1. It bewilders me that OPI would think it would be okay to release a polish that had curved glitter. I could understand finicky formulas but with the materials itself, considering the price and how well known the brand is, they'd know better! Oh well, there's always one. On the other hand Which is Witch? looks so unique! I might have to pick that one up!

  2. I love the pinks, all 3 of them. They are pretty neutrals and a girl can never have too many good work friendly polishes. I love the flakie glitter and I am going back to get Which is Witch.

  3. They all look lovely on you. Too bad about the curling glitter though.

  4. I like this white glitter a lot and sparkly topcoat. Tacos looks so pretty but I won't buy it if it curls. I need to get olive sand, this and white glitter are my must haves here :)

  5. I had the same issue with Lights of Emerald City- did a lot of fishing ans several coats to get decent coverage. I still love When Monkeys Fly despite the curling.
