NOTD Nabi Magnetic in Navy Blue

Hello everyone! Sorry for my lack of posts over the last few days. I've been working diligently on my Senior Project. Today I have another Nabi Magnetic polish to share with you. I was excited to receive this color because it's so unique, but soon disappointed after I applied the topcoat.

Here is an inside view of Navy Blue. Unfortunately the color is so dark the lines do not show up very well. I really like my lines to pop. The lines created were just "okay" and very hard to view indoors and outdoors.

It looks worse when a topcoat is applied. The lines turn into a purple jelly-ish color and blend right in with the base color. After awhile it's hard to notice them at all. I tried with 3 different topcoats: Poshe, Seche Vite and Wet N Wild. I expected it with Wet N Wild because its so thin, but didn't expect to see them disappear with the thicker top coats.

So Navy Blue is a no go for me. Its the only Nabi polish I've had problems with applying so far, very thick and goopy. I added thinner which helped but the lines are still barely noticeable. The color is really pretty though, so I may try to use it as a stamping polish or just a regular base coat.

Thanks for stopping by. Happy Polishing!

  3. Meh, I don't love magnetic polishes. They're just not for me. But I love them on everyone else - they look so sophisticated and gorgeous. Especially this shade on you :)

    1. Thanks Rebecca. This one doesn't look like a magnetic at all to me. But I have seen some milder versions that are work appropriate and not too loud. I think you can get the most out of polish when you can wear it anywhere :D

  5. Have you thought about adding a few drops of a white or light blue polish? Just to lighten it up a tiny bit? Just an idea...hate to have you give up on a polish that is So gorgeous!

    1. I'm definitely going to tweak it a little. I'll probably take your suggestion and add a little white to it first.

  6. I had the EXACT same issue with Navy Blue so I'm glad it's not just me. It's a bummer because the polish is such a pretty color. I think I'll borrow your suggestions and use it for stamping or as a regular polish from now on. ^_^

  7. That's too bad you didn't care for the effect. The magnetic effect looks noticeable in the pictures. It os a very pretty blue though. Another blogger complained about the odorous of the bani magnetically. Did you find it particularly stinky?

    1. Yes. There's definitely an odor, similar to Klean Colors but not as bad, lol.
