Peacock Inspired Manicure

Just a quick post to share my mani of the day. I've been meaning to do this mani for awhile but I kept forgetting. It may look complicated but its quite easy to do. I like the dramatic effect and how well the colors mimic the beauty of the bird.

Products used: Galaxy Girl, Glitz & Glamour, Royal Navy and It's Not Rocket Science.

Image plate: M70

Update. I just added a tutorial for this look. Enjoy!

Glitter In The Air Swatch

As promised, today I'm sharing Glitter in the Air. The polish is filled with large blue and pink hex glitters, along with tiny blue, pink and silver. As with her other glitters, the pieces appear to be floating in jelly, although this time its more of a milky base. It went on sheer, but I continued to build layers up to 4 coats, as I wanted to capture the look in the bottle.

It was difficult to capture the bling in this beauty but its definitely there.

It also looks great layered. Here are a few looks I played around with.
Top row: Essie Splash of Grenadine, LA Colors Live, Essie Turquoise & Caicos
Bottom row: WnW White, Zoya Sweet, Zoya Crystal

Overall I'm happy with this gift from my dear hubby who continues to support my addiction :D

So what do you think? Will you add this polish to your glitter collection?

Essence Metallics

Hello beautiful! How are you tonight? I'm having a great weekend with my family. Hubby and I had a movie date and yesterday he picked up Glitter in the Air for me. How cool is that? I just had to have it after seeing L's, Bright Light's Big Color, beautiful swatch. I'll post pics tomorrow but today I'm sharing one of my lemming's from the Essence Metallics Collection. I've been waiting for them for so long and they finally arrived!

One of my favorites from the set is Copper Rules. I was afraid it wouldn't contrast well with my skin tone but I must say it looks great. I used the magnet from my L'Oreal polish because I couldn't get the Essence magnet to work. Please let me know if you have any techniques or tricks to share. I just couldn't figure it out, lol.

Its a shame these magnetic polishes weren't released in the US. They're a lot of fun and the design is an attention getter.

Well I have to get back to my family now. Thanks to everyone that entered my giveaway. I'll post results soon. Oh and I hope you can see the picture. It looks like image shack is acting up tonight.

Spring Inspired Manicure

TGIS!!! Thank goodness it's Spring (almost). The weather here was great last week but now it's cold with freezing rain again. I wish I could snap my fingers and be taken away to a warm sunny day, but for now all I can do is dream about it with this spring inspired mani.

Pink - Zoya Sweet
Purple - Maybelline Goody Plum Drop
Blue - Finger Paints Blissfully Blue
Konad - M78
Chez Delaney - D23

If you haven't done so already, check out my giveaway. It ends tomorrow at 5pm US Central Time.

Camouflage & Holos

I was in the mood to do a foil the other day and this is what I came up with. The first time I tried this foil I used SH Going Green, but it was a little too bright as underwear. For this mani I used Avon Olive Green and it was the perfect match.

Here's Olive Green alone. OMG, this is some thick stuff. I only used 1 coat and it was totally opaque. It's has a muted out green effect that I'll have to get used to.

As promised here's swatch of Catherine Arley's 805. My first black holo! I'm very excited about this one. I was hoping it had more of a linear effect, but its still beautiful.

I'll post more swatches of the holo's soon. Have a great evening!

My Catherine Arley's Are Here! (Pic Heavy)

After a 2 month delay, my polishes have finally arrived! I ordered 10 Catherine Arley's after seeing Emerald Sparkled's detailed post about them. They are all really beautiful but my surprise favorite is 803, the army green holo. This color is definitely not for everyone. I like to call it a pretty-ugly color. Pretty to some and ugly to most =)

All of the polishes I ordered are holos. Some of them are not as strong as I had hoped but overall they are still beautiful and definitely worth $3.50 a bottle. I'm not sure why the package was delayed. For whatever reason, the Bulgarian post office held the package for 30 days before shipping.

(click-able)
Here's a quick look at 803.
I stamped over it using Bundle Monster plate 21. The effect reminds me of Grandma's curtains :)

Just to let you know, over the next few days I'll be updating my blog. If you see any "test posts", please ignore them. Thanks for stopping by!
