Easy Halloween Nail Stamping

I can't believe the year is almost over. Less than 100 days to Christmas and one of my favorite Holidays is right around the corner.  Yassssss!  It's time for spooky lights and tons of candy!

While I won't be having all of the candy I want this year, I will make time for lots of fun decorations and manicures of course.

I'm starting the Holiday season off with this easy nail stamping design. As I sorted through my stack of Halloween plates, I grabbed randoms which I thought were too cute to pass up.  I ended up with D04, W116, Handy 2, Handy 11, BM 209 and BM 224. All of these stamped over China Glaze Halloween 2015 green, orange and purple.

Stamping colors: KleanColor Black and Purple Sapphire, Pure Ice Silver Mercedes.

I think it turned out pretty cute (if I do say so myself :)

I hope you like this design as well. Thanks for stopping by!

Sally Hansen Halloween Insta-Dri Polishes 2014 - Swatches and Review

Hi beauties!  Today I have swatches of the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Halloween collection to share with you.  There are 4 polishes from the set but I have 3 to share with you today

Scaredly Matte
I'm so in love with this matte from the collection. It's a black matte with a slight slick finish, so it reminds me of leather. This is a photo after it dried for about 30 minutes with no base coat. It did pretty well covering my ridges but they are still somewhat visible. I wore 2 coats here.

Pumpkin Queen
A bright happy orange, perfect for Halloween. My picture mutes its a little, it's more of a bright tangerine cream (think Reeses Pieces orange). It was pretty opaque with 2 coats but I wanted to make sure there were no streaks so I applied a third coat.

OMGhost
Okay I have to admit that I partially wanted this one because of the name.  OMG is a marshmallowy white cream. I used 2 coats to make it opaque.

I really like the fun colors for Halloween or anytime of the year. I'll definitely wear the black and white year round. I'm not sure if they are good for stamping because I haven't tried them out yet but most polishes from the Insta-Dri line are perfect for stamping.

The Halloween Insta-Dri's are limited edition and are available at retailers that carry Sally Hansen.

Upcoming OPI Collections for Fall 2014: Peanuts Halloween, Pink of Hearts and Designer Series - Swatches and Review

Hey beauties! Here are swatches of the upcoming OPI Collections for Fall 2014.

The Pink of Hearts Set contiains a nail file with charm, Mod About You and The Power of Pink.

Mod about You - a bright light pink creme originally released with OPI Brights. Very cute pink that went on opaque in 2 coats.
The Power of Pink - limited edtion. Sports a creamy gelly base with medium red/fuchsia and white hex glitter and matching microglitter.

The Peanuts Collection was created for Halloween 2014. There are 4 shades:

Who Are You Calling Bossy?!? - black creme, very shiny like a gelly without the thinness. Opaque in 2 coats.

Good Grief! - canary yellow creme. The formula has a medium thickness but still required 3 coats.

Where's My Blanket? - glitter mix in a clear base.  Sports orange, lime yellow, black medium hex glitter along with black microglitter.

To Be or Not to Beagle - also a glitter mix in a clear base. Interesting combination of glitters that play well together. Sports red, medium blue, light blue, orange, yellow and black medium hex glitter along with black micro glitter for good measure. I'm in love!

The Designer Series polishes released are DS Titanium and DS Tourmaline.

DS Titanium - my absolute favorite out of all 3 collections. Has a titanium silver base and a holographic silver finish.  The glitter mix has medium blue, green and orange glitter combined with holographic microglitter. There may be other colors that come together to create this beautiful finish. Another stunning 2 coater.

DS tourmaline - for the pink lover in you. Tourmaline has a gelly pink base, but not to thin because it required two coats. It also contains a glitter and holographic mix that is difficult to see on the nail but flashes a slight holographic gold hue.

My favorites from the collections are: The Power of Pink, To Be or Not to Beagle and DS Titanium!!!  I'm not sure when the collections will hit stores but they should be coming out soon.

Happy Halloween!

Here's my last Halloween mani for the week.  For this look I tried a layering combination. I used Sally Hansen White Veil over OPI Black Spotted over Maybelline Orange Blazes.

I really like how this turned out. Interesting but not too over the top for work.

Be safe tonight. Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Week: CopyCat Pumpkins

Today's mani is a recreation of Halloween Nail Art done by the lovely Elvira at Belleza En Tus Manas. This is one of the cutest Halloween mani's I've seen so far this year. I omitted the Halloween stamp, only because I don't have that image plate.

Colors used: Konad Yellow, Konad Green (mixed with white), China Glaze Devotion.
Image plates: BM 229 and BM 204

Halloween Week: Scary Pumkins

Dusted off my stamper to make these cute and scary pumpkins. I stamped using Konad White and image plate A37 over Julep orange crackle (Sabrina) and dirty blue (Eloise) combo.

I tried to sponge the crackle on instead of polishing it on.  It made it look very "industrial".

A quick swatch of Eloise alone.

All of the contents of the October Box American Beauty Box.  I'm excited to try the Quick Dry Drops. They usually never work for me.  Hopefully these will.

More Halloween manis to come. Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Week: Candy Corn Drizzled with Glitter

Where does the time go? Halloween is about a week away so I decided to do Halloween themed mani's this week.  The first one was inspired by another nail fanatic I noticed on the nail board.  For the gradient I used Wet N' Wild White and then sponged with OPI Hi Pumpkin (orange) and Candlelight (yellow).  Then topped it off with Sticks N' Stones. I love how this turned out and so did everyone at work.

Thanks for stopping by :)

OPI So So Skullicious Mini Halloween Set 2012

Happy Saturday! Today I have the OPI Halloween mini set to share with you.  The set consists of the traditional Halloween colors with a pop of pink.

A close-up of the polishes and decals in the set. I had a little trouble with these, because I thought they were stickers. They're actually water decals and slide off after a few seconds in water.

Left to right: A Rose From the Dead, Hi Pumpkin, Morning Glory and Candlelight. The black went on with ease, but the yellow required 3 coats. I also used 2 coats for the pink and orange but could have gotten away with a 3rd. My camera didn't accurately capture the colors, they are much more vibrant in person (except Candelight/yellow) and borderline neon.

And here's my completed mani.  To make the dark fire, I used my DRK-B image plate and Konad White with Where's the Soiree Black.

Overall, this is a cute little set for Halloween. I hope you liked the design and maybe got an idea for a Halloween mani :)

Halloween Mani 6 - Fabulous Nail Stickers

I was trying to think of a mani for today when I came across these nail stickers. I purchased them a couple of weeks ago from Fabulous Nails when they had a coupon running. They're similar to Salon Effects but more difficult to apply.

Sorry for the
subpar results. I think I'm pretty good at applying nails stickers but I couldn't get these on quite right. You're supposed to blow dry them first to soften the adhesive and then apply. I was rushing so maybe I should try them again when I'm not in a hurry. They have a similar thickness to minx stickers and they're supposed last to at least a week.

Here's an example of what the sticker sheet looks like. They're
suppppppper long and enough for 2-3 applications if you have short nails. The biggest one is large enough to put on your toe.

These stickers are so cute. I'm a little sad about the way they came out but I'll try them again before Halloween is over.

Thanks for stopping by. Peace, love and nail polish!

Halloween Mani 2 - Happy Pumpkin

Hello everyone! I hope you're having a great week so far. I should have gotten this up sooner but I had to meet with my daughter's teacher to review her progress in class. It's been a loooong day for me but anyways here's my second Halloween mani.

This is very simple and easy to do. For base colors I used Revlon Tangerine and Essie Marshmallow. Both colors are lovely but I stopped counting coats at 5,
lol. I stamped with the happy pumpkin from Bundle Monster (BM224) then added Uninhibited on top of the orange. Uninhibited is very thick! I made the mistake of using full coverage on the pointer finger. For the others I dabbed the glitter on and you can actually see the orange underneath.

Have a great night and happy polishing!

Happy Halloween!!!

I hope everyone has a great Halloween tonight! Unfortunately I'll be stuck in the house studying for a test tomorrow (sad face).

I wanted to quickly share my Halloween manicure done for Chez-Delaney's Halloween stamping contest. I used image plates to stamp all of the designs. Hope you enjoy!

Image Plates Used:
Chez-Delaney - H17
Konad plate - M69 & M29
Bundle Monster - BM13

Have fun for me tonight! Be safe and take a flash light if you're going out with the kiddos. Thanks for stopping by!

Spider Webs & Candy Corn

Today I want to share my spider web mani inspired by MySimpleLittlePleasures and NailStory They both had great spider web manis and used different techniques. Colette used a water marble and NailStory used the toothpick method. I also used the toothpick method, otherwise known as the "dry marble" technique, where you take a toothpick and blend the colors. The effect was a little more dramatic than I wanted but still turned out pretty neat. Its great if you want a similar effect without using water or a quick dramatic Halloween look.

I also had to sweeten it up and try the candy corn manicure inspired by Brook. I used WnW white, Sunkist Paradise (orange) and Essence Sundancer.

Thanks for stopping by! I have one more Halloween look to share tomorrow :)

Black Crack Polish

Just a quick post to share my NOTD. This is BK Crack polish over WnW Sunnyside. I like how it turned out with the subtle cracks, but I also like the dramatic cracks of the Graffiti polishes. I received a few crack polishes as part of a swap with Thriszha. Thanks lady.

Fun With Stickers

Sooooooo, I'm having a hard time studying, lol. Here's another manicure using stickers and stamping. The stickers are from the Kiss Halloween set. I got the idea about the kitten standing on the pumpkin from a pair of nail decals I saw online, but I used fauxnad M80 and T29 to create a similar look. It's a simple but fun mani, and not too shocking for work :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Bride of Frankenstein Halloween Mani

Hello! Here's the second mani I promised. I liked the french tip on my last mani and thought it would look great as hair, so I made this Frankenstein manicure, lol. For the face I used Pure Ice Wild Thing (which is fitting). I was originally going to use Damone Roberts but didn't want to waste it. Anyways, here she is. Hope you like it! Stay tuned for more Halloween manis. Have a great night!
