OPI So So Skullicious Mini Halloween Set 2012

Happy Saturday! Today I have the OPI Halloween mini set to share with you.  The set consists of the traditional Halloween colors with a pop of pink.

A close-up of the polishes and decals in the set. I had a little trouble with these, because I thought they were stickers. They're actually water decals and slide off after a few seconds in water.

Left to right: A Rose From the Dead, Hi Pumpkin, Morning Glory and Candlelight. The black went on with ease, but the yellow required 3 coats. I also used 2 coats for the pink and orange but could have gotten away with a 3rd. My camera didn't accurately capture the colors, they are much more vibrant in person (except Candelight/yellow) and borderline neon.

And here's my completed mani.  To make the dark fire, I used my DRK-B image plate and Konad White with Where's the Soiree Black.

Overall, this is a cute little set for Halloween. I hope you liked the design and maybe got an idea for a Halloween mani :)

NanaCoco meets Sakura Matsuri

I stumbled upon the NanaCoco polishes while exploring my new city. I found them in one of the local Beauty Supply Stores for only $1.99. Hologram Maze is a dark magenta foil that goes on with one coat and dries quickly, almost too quickly to stamp with. But I was able to get a quick stamp using my new Cheeky Summer image plates. It's so pretty over Sakura Matsuri.

I almost hated to cover up this beautiful glitter, but I wanted a different look after a few days. For the base I used 2 coats of Essie Pink-A-Boo and 1 coat of Sakura Matsuri. This is the perfect mani if you don't want, or don't have time, to do your nails for a few days, because it's hard to see any tip wear. The picture below is from day 3. I'm so in love with this one, I purchased 2 bottles :)

Until next time. Thanks for stopping by!

Magic Mist meets Lavendairy

Hello Everyone! Sorry I have been away sooooooo, long.  You have no idea what my life has been like over the past few months.  After graduating, I changed cities and started a new career.  Change is good but it can be scary and time consuming.  Everything is new, new, new and nothing is comfortable or feels quite like home. Needless to say, I haven’t done much nail related lately.  After passing my board exams, I started to get back into nail care and started growing my nubbins back. My nails are short-er now, but I like them that way.  I work a lot with my hands and long nails can slow you down (if you’re not used to them).

I’ll be getting back into blogging slowly.  I’m so behind on what’s going on in the nail world right now, but thanks to you guys, I was able to snatch up a sweet deal on Coterie and a few of the latest Halloween polishes (ha-ha).

Today I have a quick pic of Hare Polish, Magic Mist.  I’m a little finicky when it comes to glitter. I prefer the scattered effect over the true glitter bomb.  Magic Mist was great for that effect and a safe choice for work.  I used 1 coat over 2 coats of Lime Crime Lavendairy.

And here's Lavendairy alone, a bright lavender with good application that dried fairly quick. I really love this color against my skin tone. I had to darken the picture somewhat since purples don't play nicely with my camera.

And that's all for today. Thanks for stopping by :)
