Nabi Cappuccino

Hello beauties! Today I have Nabi Cappuccino to share with you. It was trickier to work with than the other Nabi magnetics I own.  It took about 3 applications before I got the hang of it.  Instead of 2 coats of polish I had to use 1 medium coat and quickly apply the magnet.

Cappuccino is a golden bronze and the magnet creates light pink highlighted lines. I was worried it wouldn't look so great against my skin tone but it's fabulous! Another great magnetic by Nabi.

Nabi's can be purchased at select Walgreens, Ebay or Amazon for $4-6 dollars.

My First Blog Sale

I'm moving so I must downsize my collection.  Bad for me but good for you!  Please read the details about each item before inquiring.  This blog sale is for US residents only.

All items were purchased by me :)

A Few Details About the Items for Sale
1. A couple of the OPI's have the serial number scratched out. This is done by Transdesign or Target. If you don't like scratches on your bottles, please inquire before purchasing.
2. Some of the Julep labels I moved from the bottle cap to the sides of the bottle or vice versa. They used to cover their bottle caps with labels before transitioning to stickers on the bottom.

4. For the new Konad image plates, I have the new and old packaging (light and dark pink). Some of the used Konad image plates have polish stains on the backing. I have taken pictures to show the back of them.
5. I will respond to your emails promptly. Please email inquires to girlluvbaby(at]yahoo(dotcom).

All sales are final. I will not accept returns and I am not responsible for lost or stolen packages. If you are concerned about tracking, you can purchase a tracking confirmation for your package for $1. I will wrap the polishes well so they do not break but you can always purchase insurance.

Happy Memorial Day!

My nail of the day is a flag mani for the Holiday.  I used Cheeky image plate CH4 for the stars and stripes. For stamping I used Konad white, Sally Hansen insta dry in Racin' Red and In-A-Blink Blue for the base.

It actually looked great without the stripes. I'll have to try this image plate again for a wavy French tip.

My daughter loves them. I hope you do to. Happy Holiday :)

Lollipops, Candy and Ice Cream

Happy Saturday! I hope you have lots of fun planned for the long Holiday weekend. I'm in such a great mood today and I believe its because of my new vitamins. I feel so alive!

My nail of the day is a candy and ice cream nail design stamped over a lilac franken. They will go great with the carnival I plan to take my girls to. The image plates used were M14-cupcakes, QA12-dots, FUN2-candy and BM20-lines. I stamped using Sally Hansen insta-dri in Flasy Fuchsia.

The base I made is a franken (Lollipop) inspired by a Flickr Goddess, Penelope Luz. I'm not sure if she has a blog or not, everything is in Portugeuese. I came across her lovely nails and stopped dead in my tracks when I saw her gorgeous franken.  Her version is a million times better than mine but this will do until I can buy her version :)

A closer view.

I hope you like this mani. Thanks to Penelope for the inspiration!  Have a long and fun weekend :o)

Up Colors Multi Magenta

Hello beauties! Today I have a fun holographic color to share with you called Multi Magenta by Up Colors. It's a dark magenta with medium golden linear holo.  Not blinding holo, but still pretty.  I used 2 coats but I prefer the lighter look of 1 coat.  The application was smooth and easy. No need for aqua base.

After a while I got bored with it and stamped using Konad image M78.

I found Multi Magenta at ninjapolish.com for $7.50.

Bright Neons in the City

A quick and dirty nail of the day using my new MJ image plate. Excuse the messiness. I was polishing my nails while watching Weight of a Nation and I got a little distracted. Afterwards, I went immediately to the gym :(

For this look, I used Color Club's Starry Temptress neon's in Otherworldly and Space Case then stamped with Konad white.  Super easy and fun!

I purchased the image plate from MyOnline Shop but it will be available soon at Ninjapolish.com.

OPI Announces NEW! Pure Lacquer Nail Apps

OPI launches Pure Lacquer Nail Apps for instantaneous manicures and pedicures created using precut nail strips made of 100% real nail lacquer – providing a high-gloss finish, long-lasting wear and zero dry time. Offered in both cream and shimmer finishes, Nail Apps are available in 14 different styles – ranging in design from edgy snake print and fishnet to feminine gold lace and floral.
“Nail art has become increasingly popular, with both consumers and trained professionals,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “Pure Lacquer Nail Apps provide the perfect way to get a one-of-a-kind look that simply cannot be replicated by hand. Each nail strip is made of 100% real nail lacquer for a flawless final look with easy application.”

Combining base and color in one convenient product, Nail Apps adhere to nails in seconds and can be stretched for a perfect fit. Each pack contains 16 strips to ensure perfect sizing for all finger and toe nails. For best results, this product should not be finished with top coat. Simply remove with an acetone polish remover like OPI Expert Touch Lacquer Remover before trying a new design.
“To make Nail Apps last even longer, upgrade your service by having your manicurist cure the nail strips with a GelColor Top Coat. With this addition, Nail Apps will last up to two weeks,” explains Weiss-Fischmann. “If you chose at-home application, place each Nail App carefully, trimming where necessary. Top coat is not recommended. Within minutes, your nails will be uniquely designed like never before!”

Pure Lacquer Nail Apps are available at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for the suggested retail price of $11.95.

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope all of the Mom's had a wonderful day! The weather was perfect here and I had a chance to enjoy the sunshine with my girls.

Today's nails where inspired by a design I saw in Konad's style book using image plate M35.  I wasn't sure how to style my nails today but I wanted to participate in the Nail Challenge this week.  The theme was image plates ending in the number 5. I was uninspired so I turned to Konad's playbook for a few style ideas. I came across this flower mani which I love.

The base is China Glaze Refresh-Mint stamped with a green Franken and Konad pink. I can't remember if it's the pearlized pink or not. I have two Konad pinks and the lighter version doesn't stamp well at all.  This version is pretty good over lighter colors.

My camera couldn't capture the mint in Refresh-Mint but there's a lot of green going on in this mani balanced by the splashes of pink flowers.  It's a cute and easy combo for the Spring.

Until next time. Happy Polishing!

Hello Kitty and Friends

Well it's Friday and time for a little fun! Last night I couldn't sleep and decided to play with my new FUN 2 image plate.  I wasn't sure what to do but decided on the Hello Kitty and friends image. I started with a white base then sponged on yellow, blue, pink, green and orange.  Then I stamped using Color Club Where's the Soiree.

It reminds me of newspaper nails for some reason. I like it.

Thanks for stopping by! Until next time, Happy Polishing :)

Pink Nail Spam!

Hello Beauties!

I apologize for my absence. I've been busy enjoying my new found freedom after graduation but I've been saving up manis to share with you.

Nicole by OPI Paparazzi Don't Preach stamped Sally Hansen Night Flight using  DRK-A Image Plate. Night Flight looks black but is actually a midnight blue. I love these two together.

Icing Candy Shop. Multi-glitter in a pink base. I was a little underwhelmed with this one.  I'm not sure why but it seemed like I could have topped any pink with a party glitter and achieved the same effect.  Plus my bottle was previous used which turned me off a little.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects. I tried to freshen up my nail stickers after a few days of wear so I stamped it using my new FUN2 Image plate and Color Club Where's the Soiree.  It came out pretty cool but the stamping was not thick enough to completely cover the flower.  I'm sure it will look better on a solid color.

And those are my nails for the last few days. I hope you enjoyed them :)
Until next time. Happy Polishing!

OPI The Amazing Spiderman Collection Swatches and Review

Hello lovelies! Today I have the OPI Spiderman Collection to share with you.

Into The Night. Bright blue shimmer that glows. I only used 2 coats here but probably could have stood for a 3rd.  It still came out great with a smooth application.

My Boyfriend Scales Walls.  At first look I thought it was white but it has grey undertones.  A good alternative if you don't want to wear straight white which can look a little harsh. Two coats.

Call Me Gwen-Ever. Pretty coral-orange. I really love it against my skin tone.  My camera makes it look a little dusty but its actually very vivid.  I used 2 coats here.

Number One Nemesis.  Gorgeous gunmetal green multicolored shimmer.  This one is quite interesting and lovely on the nail.  I used 3 coats here.

Shatter The Scales over Number One Nemesis. Shimmering green shatter with a hint of turquoise.  This was quite pretty over the green glitter.  The combination makes your nails spark in the sun.  I used 1 coat over wet polish.

Your Web Or Mine? Bright pink frost.  Pretty color but very frosty and I couldn't get rid of the lines. I used 2 coats here.

Just Spotted The Lizard.  Golden green duochrome foil.  I used 2 coats here. I couldn't quite get rid of the fine lines.  Still pretty though and a good dupe for the Chanel.

I tried to capture the duochrome here. I actually prefer it more in the shade where the gold is not so obvious.

The collection is nice, although there are quite a few greens, they were my favorites in the collection.  I'm not sure how the pink fits in. It doesn't appear to follow the theme of Spiderman. The green shatter was a surprise favorite. I know everyone is doing shatter now but the shimmer makes it more interesting and it looks great over another shimmer. Overall I like the collection, especially Number One Nemesis and Just Spotted The Lizard.

This limited edition promotion will be available beginning May 2012 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $8.50 ($9.95 CAN) suggested retail for each Nail Lacquer.
