OPI Simply Smashing + Black Shatter

I was so excited to get my hands on Simply Smashing and she didn't disappoint. Its a golden green glitter that's quite unique to my stash.

Here she is under Black Shatter. There's a good contrast in color but I personally prefer it alone. Why cover such a beautiful polish?

Simply Smashing came in a set with Black Shatter and is part of the Serena Williams Glam Slam Collection. I wonder what else OPI has in store for this collection.

My New Konad Image Plate Holder!

I always feel unorganized and out of sorts after an exam and have the urge to clean and organize my life. I've been working on doing a better job with my polish collection. I purchased another Melmer, but I still feel like the walls are caving in on me with nail polish. I guess some would call that a beautiful nightmare :)

So I was browsing through Target today and found this in the office section for 5 bucks. It's a mini-organizer rotating device. I thought this would be perfect to store my growing image plate collection.

I was using these plastic storage containers and separated them by Konad, Fauxnad, Delaney & Bundle Monster.

At first I was a little worried because the holder was a lot bigger than it looked in the store. Have you ever purchased a TV in-store and then get home and realize its huge! That's how I felt when I put my little image plates and polishes inside. They just sank to the bottom.

After a while I found the, almost, perfect solution to my sinking issue: two polar bear nail buffers (ha ha). They elevated the polishes to the perfect level.

And here's the result. I love my new little device. I feel more organized now and I can easily sort through the image plates to find the ones that I need.

What are you using for storage? Do you think you would like this gadget?

Sinful Colors Green Ocean

Just a quick post as I am studying extremely hard for a Chemistry exam. Please wish me luck!

Polish - Sinful Colors Green Ocean. Base color - Ulta Glam Goth Collection - Underground.

Underground is amazing on it's on, but it's fire (or shall I say water) underneath Green Ocean. This is my only polish from the SC flakies and I really like. Can't beat a great flakie for almost less than $2!

Hope you're having a great week!

OPI Katy Perry Not Like The Movies Swatch + Black Shatter

Not Like the Movies is a green and purple duochrome that looks great in the bottle but it didn't have the same effect on my nails. I didn't see any of the green and hardly any of the purple that looks so amazing in the bottle. It looks more like a gray frost on my nails. It does however look amazing under the Shatter Polish.

Here you can really see the purple come to life and hints of the tiny glitter. This is my favorite Shatter + Katy Perry combination.

The One That Got Away also looks great underneath Shatter. If you missed it you can check it out here.

OPI Katy Perry The One That Got Away + Black Shatter

The One that Got Away didn't get away from me! I was so happy to find these at JcPenney's after the long wait over the Holiday. This is my favorite from the collection. It's a gorgeous wine colored polish with shimmer added.

Here she is with Black Shatter on top. I'm not sure if this looks so good on me. I mean, I've seen it look great on other hands but I think it brings out my flaws. This is definitely a head turner though.

No Topcoat

Top Coat added

I also got the other 3 polishes from the collection. I'll post more swatches soon!

Michael Jackson Manicure

Here's the Michael Jackson mani I promised. It almost didn't happen because my little angel had a fever and demanded that I do her nails first. So I did a super fast mani using Chez-Delaney 08 & 09. The glitter is China Glaze Fairy Dust and Nicole by OPI Scandal Secrets & Sparkle (gray). Hope you like it.

Lace and Flowers

I didn't get a chance to do a MJ mani, but here's one I did last week. I almost forgot about it until I saw Parokeets post.

For stamping I used image plate M57 with Fauxnad A01 Flowers. The polish is Carolyn New York Castle Hill.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend :)

Chez Delaney D09 Michael Jackson Image Plate

My study-induced delirium forced me to think it would be a good idea to stamp Michael Jackson all over my study notes at 2AM. Here's the Michael Jackson image plate, D09, from Chez-Delaney. I just got my plates and didn't have time to do a full mani so I thought it would be fun to try a few stamps. I was worried the images wouldn't turn out well but they are pretty clear. I can identify almost everyone except the man with the beard. No, not Abe Lincoln, lol. The other man on the left of Michael Jackson.

This was taken in the middle of the night. I'll post better pictures tomorrow.

Blue Swirls

My nails are bare right now but I though I'd share a mani I forgot to post. The polish is China Glaze Frostbite stamped with one of my favorite silvers, Sally Hansen Insta-dri Silver Sweep. It's not perfect but interesting. Sometimes when I don't Konad for a while I get a little rusty :)

That's all for now. I'm studying like a mad woman. Hope you have a great week!

Sally Hansen Salon Effects On The Fly

Can you believe I started school already? I have 19 credit hours this semester and I feel a bit overwhelmed. I'm already behind in my studying but all I want to do is check out the latest polish collections and get caught up on reading your blogs :)

I needed a little pick me up from the horrible week I had and decided to go with the butterfly set from Sally Hansen Salon Effects. The name of this set is Fly With Me and is just adorable. To break things up a bit, I painted my ring finger Wet n' Wild Mint Fusion and topped it off with a sticker.

You can check out my review of the polish strips here. I must say that I like this set a lot better than Skinny Jeans because it's more interesting and looks more like a minx to me. I still haven't mastered my application but I noticed that they stick best when you start in the middle and smooth down to the creases of your nails, that way you avoid bubbles like you see on my index finger ;)

(click-able)

I didn't forget about posting more Art Club Glam Stickers. The next set I wanted to try are French Tips with rhinestones but I didn't think I could pull it off with a broken nail :(

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have exciting plans for the weekend so that I can live vicariously through you. I'll be studying tonight and every night and for the next 15 months =)

Art Club Glam Stickers - Silver Fishnet

Sunday I stopped by Sally's and spotted the New Art Club Glam stickers. When I first heard about these I was so excited but them I immediately shrugged them off because I've never seen Art Club or Color Club locally. Imagine my surprise when I saw them on the wall display. It contained about 12 different sticker sets and most of the designs were pretty intense.

They are similar to the Sally Hansen Salon Effects but you don't get the cuticle stick and mini buffer. They're also a lot thicker but file away easily.

(please excuse my dry hands, i didn't want to take a chance and lotion these off :)

I'm holding off my review of these until I try out the second set I purchased. I was rushing when I tried these out and that could have attributed to my poor results.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!
