4th of July Nails

It's getting close to the fourth and I wanted to try out a couple of mani's before the big day. The first one below is really easy and was done using American Apparel "Downtown LA" and OPI "Ogre The Top Blue". Simply paint a diagonal line and place foil stars over the line.

The lines don't have to perfect because the stars will cover them. My only complaint is that the star were a little scratchy. The next time I'll apply two 2 top coats instead of one.

I wasn't totally happy with the first mani so I tried Konading. This was fun to do but I had a little trouble with the Konad blue stamping polish. It was really "runny" and the some of the stamps were transparent. I then switched up and used Ogre The Top Blue which worked much better and gave a more opague stamp.

Products Used:
Base - Sally Hansen White On
Blue Stars - Konad Princess Blue & Ogre The Top Blue
Red Stars - Konad Red
Foil Stars - Red & Silver

The thumb is stamped with Ogre The Top Blue and the index finger with Konad blue. Ogre appears to have a little green in it and gave a much better stamp (except the first one on the thumb, but I messed that one up).
Here's the final result and I hope you like it. If you haven't already, please register for my giveaway. Today (June 30th) is the last day! The deadline is 10pm Central Time (US).

Thanks for dropping by!

Milani In a Flash and Melt in the Sun

Hi everyone! I wanted to make a really quick post about the Milani's I found on Sunday. I went on a hunt for the Liquid Metal Collection but unfortunately I could only find one which was Metal Gear. And since they were having a B1G1 50% off sale I also got In A Flash. I was really impressed with these two, especially Metal Gear. It was so pretty I just couldn't bring myself to stamp on it.

Here's "In A Flash" stamped with Konad white and image plate M63 which is great for a pseudo marbled effect.

2 coats over a nude base
Now for what you've been waiting for "Metal Gear". It's a beautiful burnt orange and went on with 2 coats. Can you say drool city?

I think this was a wise investment and I'll continue looking for her sister polishes, lol. I hope you guys have a great night. It's close to midnight here and I've got to get a few hours rest. Thanks for stopping by and if you haven't already please enter my giveaway!!!! The deadline is June 30 10pm Central Time (US)

OPI Mad As A Hatter meets Konad M57

Happy Saturday! Hope you all are having a wonderful day! What do you have planned for today? I'm taking my girls to see Karate Kid, lol. I hear it's a pretty good show. We tried to go last week but it was sold out. We couldn't go to a later show because it was too close to dinner time. Well I'm getting my tickets early today :)

For this mani, I wanted a look similar to Minx nails. I tried to duplicate the shiny look with OPI Mad As A Hatter. It's so purrrrty and I hope you like them. Was I mad for stamping over MAAH???

Products used:
Base: LA Colors Live (silver)
Glitter: OPI Mad As A Hatter
Image plate: Konad M57
Stamping: Color Club Where's The Soiree (black)

Geez Louise!!! I love this polish in the sun!!!
That's all for now. Hope you enjoyed the pics!

Zoya Swatches

Happy Friday! I wanted to post a few Zoya swatches since the exchange is coming to an end soon. Did you order all your lemmings yet? Here are a few of the pretties I got.

Ok so I promised no more pink for awhile but I just had to display Zoya Sweet. She reminds me of cotton candy, yum. I used 2 coats over 1 coat of a white base. This is a must have for pink lovers like myself.

On my hunt for another lemming I stumbled across Ms. Roxy. Why couldn't Zoya have named this one after me? She is a gorgeous plum with fuschia glitter. Bow down glitter gals. Two coats and you're out the door!

Perrie is a sweet and feminine dark lilac from the Flash Collection. She makes me happy when in look at her :) Here I used 2 coats over 1 coat of a clear base.

Last but certainly not least is Charla. I'm sure you've heard the world of her and she lives up to expectations. She is a majestic bluish green that doesn't disappoint! Here's 2 coats over 1 coat of a neutral base to minimize staining.

That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by! If you haven't already order your lemmings by June 30th!!!

Cherry on Top Award

I received this award from CaramelCutie. This was a sweet surprise and unexpected :)

Rules of this award are:
1. Thank the person who gave this award to you.
Thanks CaramelCutie!

2.Copy the award and put it on your blog.
I'll do that after i figure out how :)

3.List 3 things which you love about your self.
This is hard for me because I don't like to talk about myself but here goes................
  • I love being a mom. It has totally changed my life and given me a greater appreciation for almost everything.
  • I love having an open mind. I try not to live in a box and be open to new ideas.
  • I love my nails (ok, i just couldn't leave this out :)
4.Post a picture you love.
I love this picture because it reminds me of my daughters. This is a pic of a Beluga whale & baby swimming together. We were going to a dolphin show and the mother was part of the act. They were very friendly and came near us before the performance. My daughters loved talking to them.

5.Tag 5 people you wish to pass this award on to.

I'm not sure if I was supposed to but I decided to add a little note as to why I awarded these ladies.

Susie is one of the friendliest bloggers I know. She always encourages and promotes new bloggers.
Katrina has great nail art and a sunny disposition.
Lily is another sweetie and updates her blog several times a week. She is really committed to blogging and it shows.
Thriszha is too fab for words. She has the most creative nail stamping designs.
Doll Face is so creative. I like how she uses things around the house and turns them into little masterpieces.

Thanks again Caramel!!!

Essence Nail Art Stampy Kit

So I finally broke open my Essence Kit. I’m probably the last nail fanatic in the world to get my hands on this little jewel.

The images are cute and very similar to the Konad floral designs. They are a little thicker but that's great for beginners because they won’t dry out as fast. Overall it’s a great buy for $3!!!

Here’s the design I came up with. I used Konad M19 for the French tip and each of the 7 floral images.

Images without rhinestones & topcoat.

Kissy Face Mani

Happy Monday! I hope everyone is doing well today. I had a great Father’s Day with DH and did this Kissy Face mani just for him. Did you have a great Father’s Day? I hope everyone has an important male role model, past or present, in their lives.

For this mani I used a plain white polish for the base and sponged silver on top of it. This isn’t the original look I was going for but I think it turned out okay. DH’s favorite color is red, but since I did the rose manicure in red for him, I decided to pick my favorite color. Please excuse my thumb I don't know what happened to it :)

This will be my last pink mani for awhile (unless I decide to do a swatch). I need to start experimenting with other colors in my stash or I’ll never get through them all. I’ll probably do a vamp day or week soon since my favorite movie, Twilight, will be out shortly.

Products used:

Orly - French Manicure White

LA Colors – LIVE for silver sponging

Bundle Monster image plates– BM02 & BM09

Konad Stamping Polish – Pink

Black Stamping – Color Club “Where’s The Soiree?”

I was trying to lighten the photo and came up with this. Looks kinda cool eh? Now you can see what it would look like in blue :)

Thanks for taking out time to check out my pics. Have a great polishing day!

Babbling Brook's Huge Giveaway

This is a special post for Brook's mega giveaway. She's celebrating her blog's 2nd anniversary.

Boy o boy, I would have a blast with all these goodies!!! There will be 10 winner total! Click here to visit her site and for your chance to enter!

Analogous Design

Good morning Sunshines! I wanted to share my bright and sunny analogous manicure I did for Polish Hoarder Disorder's Challenge. If you haven't already check out her site. She has design challenges weekly, which are great if you can't come up with any ideas for your nails. They're also just for fun.

The challenge was to pick three colors that were next to each other on the nail wheel. The colors I choose were red, orange & orange yellow. The colors are a lot darker in real life. My camera couldn't capture the red correctly.

Products used:
Pinky - Konad M35 (butterflies)
Ring - Chez Delaney (butterfly)
Middle - Konad M35 (angel)
Index - Fauxnad M76 (rose)
Orange - Wet n' Wild Sunkist Paradise
Red sponging- Wet n' Wild Cherry Pop
Red stamping - Konad Red

I hope you enjoyed my bright nails. Have a great day!
