Zebra Skittles

Happy Friday!!! I hope you all are doing well and ready for a long weekend. I wanted to do a fun mani using the new Wet n Wild colors and I got this idea from a LHCF member.

The colors I used are WnW:
Lime - Mint Fusion
Orange - Candy Apple Twist
Yellow - Lemon Drops
Purple -Berry Jubilee.

I also used French manicure stickers that were part of a Nailene kit, Konad plate M57 & Color Club "Where's the Soiree" black. I normally use Seche Vite but this time I used Poshe topcoat and the zebra design immediately smeared. So I switched back to Seche.

This is a fun mani for the weekend that will go great with different summer outfits. And of course dear daughter wanted to get in on the fun so I painted her toes. At first I thought the zebra print would be too mature but the bright colors soften the look.

WARNING!!!!! THERE ARE TOE PICTURES BELOW!!!! LOL

Well I hope you guys enjoyed this mani. I'll try post my Memorial Day mani soon. Have a great Holiday!!!

China Glaze Neon Sun Rays

Here's a quick mani I did using China Glaze neons. It was originally supposed to be a neon gradient mani but I failed at that so I stamped sun rays on top of it. I used Chez Delaney plate number H5 and CG Flip Flop Fantasy and CG Pink Voltage. I love those name, lol. For stamping I used Konad white & LA Colors LIVE.

Sally Hansen HD Hi Definition Swatches

I was finally able to get my hands on these bad girls and I was not disappointed. They are indeed high definition with lots shimmer. There are 8 polishes in the entire selection but I only picked up 6. From left to right: LCD, Wavelength, Byte, Spectrum, DVDand Laser .

Of course I had to try the pink one out first. Here's 2 coats of LCD over Sally Hansen's White-On. I loved it after the first coat. The application was smooth & easy.

Wavelength is my least favorite of the bunch. It was a lot thicker than LCD and not as shiny. The glitter is there but it's not as obvious.

Spectrum is a vibrant teal and my second favorite of the bunch. I almost didn't get it because I thought it was too similar to Zoya Charla but I snatched it up anyways and I'm happy I did. Isn't she gorgeous!

DVD is very pretty but it just does not compare to Spectrum in my honest opinion. It's a little lighter than Laser but not as dramatic.

Wooza! Fuschia is in the house but this time it's over WnW black creme. What a perfect combination. I added the second picture to show the effects of Byte. It leaves a beautiful subtle pink hue over black. It can also be layered over Laser for a similar effect.

I'm a pastel girl but I'm in love with Laser. Here she is in 2 coats over WnW black. This is an amazing blue and my absolute favorite. Look at that glitta!

Overall these polishes are great. The darker colors are extremely pretty and resemble liquid metal. Byte, Laser and Spectrum are the most dramatic. I love how you can layer the polishes over one another to get a 3D effect. Once again, Sally Hansen has a hit their hands!

Back to Konading

With all the BM excitement I forgot about my good ole Konads. While I'm not too crazy about how this one photographed I must say I love this design.

For stamping I used LA Colors LIVE. It's one of my favorite polishes right now.

I Want My Nails Painted Too

I think I'm turning my girls into little nail polish fanatics. The other day we went to Dollar General with hubby to buy packing tape. Of course I saw this as an opportunity to check out their polish selection. We'll Lizzy, my 2 year old, wanted to hold the Poshe top coat. I tried to bribe her and swap it out for pink baby bracelets but she wasn't having it. So we let her hold it and she left with it tucked safely away in a bag that only she could carry.

My 7 year old is a little manicure perfectionist and she surprises me everyday. Every time I do her mani's she tells me where and how to clean up, lol. I think her favorite color is red but I usually try to persuade her to pick pastels instead. Here is the star mani she just had to have. After I finished she told me "Mom. I must say, not bad with the nail polish".

Bugged Out Again

I hope you ladies had a fabulous Monday. I don't know about you guys but I'm absolutely pooped out. In my effort to get in shape for the summer I exercised for about an hour and I think I over did it.

Anyways, tonight I wanted to present a mani I previously posted. The other pics were just plain bad so I thought I'd share what the mani really looked like. This time I used Color Club Where's the Soiree for stamping and clean-up was soooo easy.

I hope you don't mind me doing it over. I'm new to blogging and photographing so I'm learning as I go. I'll continue to update and edit previously posted photos.

Wet n Wild Jelly Polishes

Say hello to my little friends! I love these new WnW jelly polishes and of course I had to try out Bubble Yum Gum first, lol. Isn't it gorgeous.

Here are the others that I have. I know this pic is awful but I was in a rush to take it before DH got home, lol.

Hello Hello Kitty!

Yay!!! My computer is almost fixed and I have lots of pics to share with you all. The simple fixed turned into a week long project that I still haven't completed.

I'll try to post most of my mani's from the last few weeks. First up is Hello Kitty. I received a new plate from a friend (after I lost my old one) and here's what I came up with. I used one of the new Wet N Wild jelly polishes, Bubble Yum Gum. A very cute name that suits a very cute polish.

Animal Print Nails

Happy Friday Ladies! I hope all is well with everyone. So far my summer break is going great. I'm enjoying time home with the little one and finally getting 8 hours of sleep.

Below is a design using Konad plate M50. I used beige, brown and golden glitter polish underneath.

Then I tried to create a 3-D effect using a toothpick and white nail polish. I was going for the furry look, lol. I would have posted more pictures but I'm having computer trouble right now. I'll try to put up more tomorrow.

Enjoy your weekend ladies!

The Marbling Experience

I was confined to the house today waiting for the phone company to make a repair. They gave a crazy window time of 8am to 8pm. So with all the time on my hands I decided to a attempt a marbled design. I tried marbling once before but it was a complete disaster. I used a styrofoam bowl and it leaked half-way through the process and left polish all over the kitchen table. This time I was prepared and used a plastic tablecloth folded over and plastic disposable cups.

The first few nails came out great but after awhile the polish wouldn’t spread. So I decided to get a fresh cup of water and what would you know another hole. The water spilled everywhere again. It seems the polish that drops to the bottom of the cup somehow eats holes into the cup. I didn’t realize the hole was there until I lifted it and a big spill occurred. It was sort of scary to see polish in action like that. I wondered what type of chemical it has in it. Maybe that’s why polish doesn’t come in plastic bottles.

Any who, I made a fresh cup of warm water and doubled the cups this time. So I’m moving along at a good pace and then the brush fell out of the polish handle into the water, lol. So I quickly dipped my hand into the water to save the brush and ruined two of the marbled nails. Now I had to start all over again. I know this process has to be a lot smoother for ladies that marble all the time. Maybe it’s just a learning curve. After all the fuss, the nails came out great but I don’t know if I can commit that much time to marbling again.

The marbling colors I used are: Peony, Live and Funky Dunky. I used Savvy as a base color but I should have used Peony instead. Live is by L.A. Colors and is one of my favorites! It’s great for just about everything: konading, marbling and adding glam to any manicure.

Cinco de Mayo Inspired Nails

I used this picture to create a Cinco de Mayo inspired nail. I thought the color combination was beautiful and unusual.

For stamping, I used Bundle Monster french tip plate BM17 and Konad french tip plate M19. I forgot to take pictures during the process. I'll try to remember next time:) You don't have to use Konad's french tip plate if you don't own it. You can simply free-hand the light blue.

Konad pastel blue, Konad red, Maybelline Banana Bamba, Carolyn New York Lincoln Center

Bundle Monster Plate BM19

Here's a fun mani using Bundle Monster plate BM19. The base color is OPI Fiercely Fiona with Who The Shrek Are You sponged on top of it. The sponged color is barely visible underneath.

Bundle Monster Plate BM02

This is one of the cutest plates in the Bundle Monster pack. I was inspired to use this plate after seeing so many beautiful mani's using the hot lips but I used the curly lines instead. The polish is Essie Splash of Grenadine.

I started with Grenadine as the base and then randomly stamped the curly lines allover my nails. The results will resemble a full nail stamp.
